Maria Zuniga was nominated by her colleague of seven years, Angelina Hilton.
Mrs. Zuniga has made a difference for each and every student she has counseled! When students need to talk to someone or just look at a friendly face, she is always available for them, their parents, and any colleague that needs her. She demonstrates an ethical demeanor towards everyone, always willing to help others and assisting in many other tasks besides counseling. In her professional accomplishments, she has recieved a license to counsel privately, but her passion lies in the public schools. Another aspect of her career is that she has continued to work on her doctoral degree.
"She is very passionate about our campus - she delivers lessons, speaks to students and parents, and creates a nurturing environment where we feel secure and loved because of her," said Hilton.

As a former School Counselor, I can tell you with great certainty that Maria Zuniga is a person that puts the needs, concerns and issues of students a top priority. Mrs. Zuniga, is always continuing her education to not only to continue to provide more for her students but to continue to be a great asset and resource to her campus. Mrs. Zuniga is always looking for the greatest in each individual and for that I believe Maria Zuniga is a person worthy of this recognition of Life Changer.

I am so proud for Maria Zuniga. She totally deserves this acknowledgement. Mrs. Zuniga is professional, ethical and knowledgeable in her job responsibilities. Mrs. Zuniga has worked on Curriculum writing for the counseling department for middle school and prior years for elementary schools.
