Ana Moreno Davila was nominated by a colleague, Sarina Sigel.

The student population where Ms. Davila works is exclusively students with special needs. The cafeteria at her school is special because it does not serve up the regular district menu; it provides meals specific to their student population. Many students get meals provided by Ms. Davila and the cafeteria staff that are pureed or modified in some way for different swallowing and other dietary restrictions.

"I asked my principal who we should nominate, and she replied that 'Ana is an amazing cafeteria person. She goes above and beyond for our students. She is willing to do whatever is needed for our students. She is so patient and kind,'" said Sigel.

Ana is an amazing person as well as a dedicated employee. Her attention to detail has proven to be part of what makes her so special when it comes to the "whole child" mantra. She perfects her work with care and thoughtfulness, while always keeping in mind the responsibilities that come with her duties. She contributes to the aesthetics of the environment by working with her co-worker (Teresita) to create a fun and festive atmosphere for the students when they come through the serving line. Congratulations Ana, you are a winner everyday!

Ana is an amazing woman. She is dedicated to her job and to her students. Ana always has a smile on her face as she greets her students. She purees anywhere from 20-40 meals a day and hand chops 30-40 more to accommodate the special needs of her students. On top of all that, Ana takes the time to make her serving line look fun and festive according to the season. She always puts KIDS FIRST in everything she does!! Ana Moreno Davila is my pick for Life Changer of the Year!!!
