"Miss Carrie is the heart and soul of Pepper Drive, a TK-8 school with over 600 students. Her amazing lumpia is just one of the many ways she impresses us! It's her fostering a sense of belonging. Miss Carrie's empathy and kindness shine through in everything she does. She ensures that every child receives a nutritious meal each day, believing that no student should ever go hungry," said Dawson.

Her dedication goes beyond serving food; she creates a nurturing atmosphere that positively influences the school's culture. Her leadership at Santee School District commands respect, and her commitment to excellence inspires her colleagues to work hard alongside her. Preparing sack lunches for field trips may seem daunting, but Miss Carrie handles it with grace and efficiency, ensuring that every child has what they need.

Her moral and ethical standards guide her actions, making her a role model for both students and staff. She does the right thing even when no one is looking. Miss Carrie doesn't work for a paycheck; she works to make the world a better place, impacting the lives of her students every single day. I had the wonderful pleasure of working side by side with Ms. Carrie, she is wonderful!! Always looking up for students, always supporting them and us as co-workers. I learned so much from her So grateful for her.

Ms Carrie has been there for all 3 of my kids, Kaydence, Valor and Nate! They come home talking about how she just knows them especially any of their dietary needs, Im grateful she takes good care of Pepper Drive’s students and always gives a warm smile and hug when they see her!!
