Maten is passionate about early literacy and access to a fair start. She believes that all children deserve a fair start in life and having a chance at learning in pre-k is really important. Maten currently teaches Second Grade but started her educational career teaching kindergarten and it will always be near and dear to her heart. She has been a Girl Scout leader for many years. Being a sister to every Girl Scout is showing up when they ask. She loves volunteering and being a troop leader.
