Pam Bethke is passionate about students' success. She has been teaching for a while now and seeing her former students in action, brings her joy. In addition to being an English teacher, Bethke leads the Environmental Awareness Club. The club has three gardens: one for Monarchs butterflies, one for veggies, and a sensory garden in Amphitheater. Students maintain all of them, and spread the word about environmental issues. They act as a service group and perform a lot of community service hours.
Bethke encourages students to come to the school three Saturdays a year for campus beautification projects. Upwards of a hundred students will show up and participate in spreading dirt, pulling weeds, and other tasks to make Stony Point’s campus beautiful. She has also been instrumental in getting people to donate to the school’s care closet, which is a collection of clothing items, shoes and hygiene items for students in need.
Stony Point High School Principal Anthony Watson has praised Bethke for going above and beyond for students. “After experiencing the teaching and encouragement of Pam Bethke, I see students become more concerned with their well-being, peers, environment, and school,” Watson said. “That truly is life changing to them.”

Pam has been the most amazing human I have encountered within the RRISD. 3 of my 4 children have, and attend, RRISD. I have a lot of experience with the district. Pam IS the most AMAZING in all the years I have been a parent of a child that attends RRISD
Pam is a true blessing to the students on campus. Pam is always full of energy and goes out of her way to support her students. She attend their extracurricular events and steps in to support students when their parents are not able to attend. I have been so impressed to her dedication. She is a great asset to Stony Point HS.

Ms Bethke is an amazing educator, co-worker and all around person. Every day you can see just how much she loves her job and her students by the amount of energy she puts out. She goes above and beyond for all students, teachers and staff members to ensure everyone is getting the best education they can possibly get. She teaches students and makes sure they have all the resources they need, communicating with parents, collaborating with teachers and administration, and helping train new teachers. Mrs. Bethke has helped me in so many ways not just academically but as a person. She has helped me grow the past 2 years i've been with her whether it's with school and grades or if it's my own personal things. Mrs. Bethke is an amazing person and educator and i'm so grateful that I have had her to back me up these past 2 years. My first, and best, introduction to Stony Point was Ms. Bethke, carrying a young oak for planting on the football field. My second, and almost best, introduction to Stony Point was Ms. Bethke asking for donations for her coat closet during a mild, but cold, winter. All those coats were quickly sent to students to protect them from the cold. She ran out of coats at one point and I met her again as she worked tirelessly to get donors! Ms. Bethke symbolizes for me the heart of caring for kids and the definition of agape. All these activities are in addition to her teaching and care for students with disabilities. A teacher like Ms. Bethke is as rare as seeing a Monarch butterfly on a busy Texas highway. She truly deserves the LifeChanger nomination.

Pam is AMAZING! She gives so much of herself to the students and supports so many initiatives at our school. She is a fabulous teacher who arrives early and stays late. Pam brings students of all types together as they work to make the campus more beautiful (Environmental Club and campus garden). Her student groups created a sensory garden for our special needs students. Students on our (Blue Crew) students who attend athletic events to provide pep improve crowd participation during campus sporting events. Pam is always to first person to rally the campus and provide students with all the supports needed to be successful. She is an academic leader teaching students of all levels and social emotional leaders providing safe spaces for students to come when they need the time and space to collect themselves. Is a Life changer not jut for our campus but for the community as well.
Mrs. Bethke is a great asset to our students. Mrs. Bethke will go above and beyond to help students, participate in club activities, attend sporting games, concerts, and plays anything to support our students Mrs. Bethke is their #1 fan. Pam is amazing! She is always ready to jump in and help for ANYTHING! I don't work with her directly but I have seen from a distance how she is so present and available for all kinds of extracurricular activities and is always helping. She has so impressed me.

Mrs. Bethke is Stony Point! Her support for students and staff go above and beyond. I had the pleasure of working with Bethke for several years. When I had a need she was there. Mrs. Bethke bleeds Blue and Gold as she is the sponsor for Blue Crew, which is the hype crew for the sports teams at Stony Point, not just at local games but traveling ones too. She has organized countless celebrations and programs for Hispanic Heritage Month, Black History Month, Stony Points 25th Anniversary, campus clean up and so much more. I am glad to show my support for Mrs. Bethke, as she is so deserving of this recognition!
