Lyndsey Owen is passionate about student social emotional development, academic achievement, and career growth. She works as a school counselor in a rural title one school district with limited resources.

In a recent article in the Willapa Harbor Herald, RHS Principal, Brian Maley stated, “Lyndsey Owen does a fantastic job providing support for our students at Raymond Jr./Sr. High school. Lyndsey's primary asset is her ability to provide emotional support and counseling to our students. Lyndsey has a huge heart for kids and gets along fantastically with our students.”

Owen told the Herald she became interested in counseling after her own experience of anxiety and depression as a teen. In graduate school, she had the opportunity to work at a children’s advocacy center assisting individuals impacted by traumatic events. The combination of personal and professional experience created a passion for counseling services with youth and families. She is currently a licensed behavioral health therapist and school counselor.

Owen was nominated anonymously.
