Lisa Casassa is passionate about families and community members providing the best support for children in meeting developmental milestones and enhancing children's learning and development through every day routines.
In Ohio, Early Intervention (EI) is a statewide system that provides coordinated services to parents of young children with disabilities. EI services support parents of infants and toddlers with disabilities. EI is grounded in the philosophy that young children learn best from familiar people in familiar settings. That’s why your local EI team, which includes a service coordinator and service providers, works with you in your home or other places you and your family spend time to develop a coordinated plan.
EI builds upon and provides supports and resources to assist parents and caregivers to enhance children’s learning and development through everyday routines. It is a collaborative, home and community-based system where you and a team work together to provide ongoing support to your child.

Lisa is such a sweet, caring individual. It is no surprise that she’s chosen a career of helping others. TCBDD and our community are lucky to have such an advocate for early intervention.
Lisa is a very caring person and deserving of this award. She is a mother, new grandmother, daughter, and sister, besides caring for the families she is involved with. I’m sure her work ethics carry through from her family, as she has raised three wonderful daughters, while working full-time with her husband by her side. I would love to see Lisa get the recognition she deserves, as she is a very caring person for the families she continues to serve.
I could not think of a more deserving person for this nomination than Lisa!! She is always smiling and is the kindest, most helpful, supportive, genuine caring person. She not only helps our community through EI but she also helps families meet their basic needs during challenging times. Lisa will help families to get items they need such as diapers, toiletries, winter coats, shoes, clothes, and more! She goes above and beyond and I am so grateful she is on our team! I can always count on her if a helping hand is needed! She is a blessing to our program!
Lisa is a great supervisor and is deserving of this award. She is very passionate about the job and the families we have in our care. I have been working with Lisa many years, she was a great Early intervention specialist and now a supervisior who goes above and beyond her job title for us and the families we serve. I just love being back in early intervention after a 6 years in preschool, I was welcomed back by the whole team and especially Lisa. Way to go Lisa!
My mom is more than deserving of this nomination! Her kindness and passion for making families and children’s lives better is admirable. She has made such a difference in children’s and families lives! She is overall a wonderful person that truly cares in helping others!

She never forgets any of the little lives she has touched throughout the years because this is more than just a job for her; it’s her passion!
Lisa has shown such dedication and love to her job. Her passion for helping the families and staff and being available for everyone is to be commended. If a parent calls needing something she will help find what they need, take it to them or have the items available for easy pick up. Lisa is always seen helping out at TCBDD sponsored events and is always providing information for families regarding Early Intervention. Trumbull County is blessed to have her.
Lisa is so deserving of this nomination! Not only is she a supportive and fair supervisor, but Lisa is so very caring, encouraging and generous to our families that we serve. Our program has grown by leaps and bounds since Lisa has taken on the role of Early Intervention Director. Lisa Casassa is one of the most kind hearted individuals I have ever met in my life. She’s a put everyone first before her kind of person. She is an amazing mother and grandmother. Lending a helping hand in any possible way she can always .
Lisa is a wonderful and amazing educator. All lives she touches she makes a difference. She deserves this!
Lisa’s knowledge of the best early intervention strategies, her ability to work effectively with team members, and her dedication to servicing the children and families to the utmost standards makes Lisa the perfect candidate to receive this award.
Lisa was very beneficial to my son Owen's development when he was in the early intervention program many years ago. My son is now 19, and remains involved with TCBDD. We came to the office for a meeting with another individual not too long ago and ran into Lisa while we were waiting. 16 years later, and she still remembered us from early intervention! I'm so glad we had her on our team to help guide him as he was learning the basics at a young age and give him a good start in life.
I served as Superintendent of the Trumbull County Board of DD as Lísa was interviewed and hired. She impressed me as in the top ten percent of applicants in intellect, preparation, scholarship, and caring for those she would serve. She truly represented all that we wanted in a candídate.
She proved us correct.
