Ms. Johnson is passionate about social emotional learning in children. As a school counselor, she is passionate about all children having access to education and a safe place to learn and grow. Ms. Johnson wants to build skills in children that they will continue to foster throughout their lives. It is her goal to give children opportunities to learn and express their feelings so that they may grow into emotionally intelligent adults.
As parents of a current VFE student, we sincerely appreciate the invaluable support, care, and guidance Ms. Johnson has shown, provided, and continues to provide for our child during a hard time. Ms. Johnson has created a supportive and safe place at school where our child feels comfortable talking with her about concerns or worries that arise. Ms. Johnson has also always listened to any of our concerns and questions we had. She has been very helpful and resourceful in guiding us to extra support and helping us with our needs. She truly has the best interest of all students and shows her passion and goal of how to best support each student to have a successful and best school experience. Thank you for all you do, Ms. Johnson!

This honor is so well-deserved. As a school counselor colleague of Kaitlyn's, I know her to be generous, hard-working and committed to always doing her best for kids. Kaitlyn goes about her work with thoughtfulness and intentionality. She is humble and is always seeking to improve her interventions with students. She is kind and gives her time to help her colleagues improve our practice as well. We are so lucky to have her on our team!
Kaitlyn is the greatest person I know. She is the most thoughtful, caring, considerate, intentional person, and she utilizes all those characteristics into how she loves and supports her students. Her determination and commitment to showing up for her kids everyday is matched by none. And already she has made such an incredible impact on so many lives. She is adored by her students and respected by her fellow staff members. She embodies all that it means to be a school counselor. She is changing lives on a daily basis and showing honest love, care, patience, and understanding while doing it. She is a true life changer.

I have had the pleasure of knowing Kaitlyn for many years now. She is one of the most dedicated and caring humans I have ever met. The students she works with are so lucky to have her. Kaitlyn is the most amazing person you will ever meet. She is constantly putting others first and making sure their needs are met before hers. I know those at her school, coworkers and students see this as well. I am lucky to call her a friend.

This award was meant for Kaitlyn! Not only is she a phenomenal school counselor but she is also an amazing human being! I’ve had the privilege of working with her for over a year now. She has helped me both as a professional colleague but has been a great source of support for both of my kids as they navigate/navigated the end of their elementary journey. I can think of no one more deserving! Kaitlyn Johnson is magical!
Kaitlyn Johnson is a kind, caring, and patient person. I am lucky to work with her at VFE. I have seen her in action with students many times and she always puts students needs first. She helps make them feel safe and supported. She actively listens to meet students needs daily. We are lucky to have her as a part of the VFE family!
My sweet friend and colleague was nominated for the Life Changer of the Year Award! Kaitlyn goes above and beyond to serve our students and has the amazing ability to know their needs. Her dedication to her profession and want to help create a safe environment for our kiddos really makes a difference. VFE is beyond lucky to have such a caring and empathetic Councelor who without a doubt does more than asked of her. I truly believe she embodies exactly what this award describes and deserves all the recognition for the amazing work she does and will continue to do.
