Ms. Hove is passionate about supporting the whole child to help them reach their fullest potential and achieve their post-secondary goals. She is also passionate about engaging with families and collaborating with them to make sure their children get what they need.
I have had the pleasure of working with Jillian for at least 8 to 9 years, she is one of my lead school counselors in our district and an amazing school counselor. She has been a site supervisor and mentored many of our future and current school counselors. She is a huge reason her school has a Recognized ASCA (American School Counselor Association) Model Program, she is a ASCA certified school counselor, and just an overall kind and helpful human being!

Jillian invited me to Career day as a speaker. Having 50 years of work experience to share with four classes of students helped answer many important questions the students had. She made sure there was dozens of speakers as well.
Providing live proof that education is important to a career creates an incentive to stay in school and know a job will be waiting for every student that just graduates high school.
College scholarships and union apprenticeships are always available. Students just need to be informed early on, so a goal is in front of them. This is all good guidance counsling.
Jillian is an exceptionally gifted and passionate school counselor. Her compassion and love for children undergirds her ability to be effective in her work with others, and when helping to bring healing to a challenging situation.
Jillian, is one of the most compassionate and supportive school counselors I have ever known in my 20 years working in education. I worked with several difficult special education students throughout the years and Julian was always available helping both myself, my students and their families when she could.
She spent many long hours helping many families with housing, food and or transportation. She’s organized and held many different groups to help students with their emotional and academic needs. Jillian does so much for Kilo and it’s community.
Kilo is so very lucky to have such a dedicated counselor. Jillian has made a great difference in so many lives.
It can’t be said enough how Jillian consistently puts students first. Jillian is a wonderful advocate for children and families at Kilo Middle School. She is passionate in the work she does and shares her knowledge with colleagues. I am blessed to have opportunities to collaborate alongside her and the community is blessed to have her supporting them!
As the counselor at one of the elementary schools that feeds into Jillian's middle school, I get the honor of collaborating with her every year as we transition our 5th graders to her school. She goes the extra mile to make sure our kids are ready for the transition. She is a leader in our district and is always happy to assist colleagues in creating more robust counseling programs. Jillian is one of the best!!

I met Jillian her first year at Kilo when I was providing school-based therapy with several of her students. Inspired by her passion, thoughtfulness, and grounded nature, Jillian and I became fast friends and she’s still one of my most trusted colleagues nearly a decade later. Jillian is a force and inspires everyone around her, both personally and professionally. She’s both a starter AND a finisher, which is essential in serving her current student population. They all know they can trust her word and her presence.
I have known Jillian since she was 14 when she was my student. Even then she showed compassion for others and always a willingness to help others. As she has progressed in her career she continued that same passion for helping others. She is most deserving of this award.
Jillian, is a steady rock at Kilo. Here sweet personality combined with her student first advocacy always is welcoming when dealing with student issues. She is supportive as a co-worker, which is appreciated when juggling all the requirements of a day. Jillian is willing to help whenever possible. She is level headed, patient, and attentive. I feel lucky to work with her.
