Ms. DeLalla is passionate about preparing today’s youth holistically for the future, focusing on both academic and social-emotional skills. As a school counselor in an elementary school, she has the opportunity to work with students in classrooms, small groups, and individually. She values the chance to assist young learners, starting in kindergarten, in regulating and understanding their emotions, helping them be more present in the classroom.

The K-5 social-emotional learning (SEL) curriculum includes lessons on conflict resolution, bullying prevention, stress management, and social skills. These skills are built upon each year and are integrated into the school’s positive behavioral interventions and supports.

Jeanette is my co-counselor at Canyon Creek and I am so glad she is here! She is friendly and helpful and worked really hard to get up to speed at our large elementary school, with hundreds of students she had never met before. She has really helped Canyon Creek to become a great school with her inclusiveness, community building, and technology strengths; along with her caring and fun-loving personality!

Mrs. DeLalla is one of the most giving and generous people I've ever had the pleasure to work with. She is so good with students and has the biggest heart. She always goes above and beyond in so many different areas at our school. She is a wonderful listener, and a safe person for all staff and students. She works hard to support our families in any capacity necessary. I am grateful also to call her friend.

Jeanette is fantastic to work with at our school. As a classroom teacher, I am able to ask her for advice, collaborate on new interventions for a student, and build a strong team with a student's parents. She is always willing to work together and support me with various needs in my classroom. She makes such a positive impact with our staff, students, and families. We appreciate all of her skills!
