Laura Hubbard was nominated by her colleague, Stephanie McArthur.

Mrs. Hubbard is an amazing music educator, colleague, and advocate for music in her school district. In addition to teaching 5th and 6th grade music, she has an after-school choir that meets once a week.  During the school day, Mrs. Hubbard is an academic instructional coach when she is not teaching music classes, and is in charge of her school's house award programs.  Mrs. Hubbard has several choir students each year who are selected to participate in the MMEA (Mississippi Music Educator's Association). Choir students under her direction not only get to participate in events at the state level, but at local nursing homes and community events.

"Mrs. Hubbard is an amazing role model and mentor to her students and colleagues," said McArthur. Her commitment and love of music is helping to shape our next generation of musicians and music lovers."

A TRUE life changer. Laura has the enthusiasm, energy and belief in students that makes a difference in her students lives everyday. Always the mentor. Students recognize those that truly care. Laura lives what she believes.

Ms. Hubbard is a bright light at SRA! Not only does she make musical magic for students, she makes certain school-wide programs are managed throughout the year. Truly, our students benefit from her school spirit and desire to promote positive character. She is a gift!

Mrs.Hubbard is a great educator. She makes learning music fun for her students and does her best at her job. As her former student I greatly appreciate all she has done for me to be a better musician.
