You can see in her eyes how much she cares. I Enjoy seeing the passion, dedication, and unwavering commitment to a truly needed cause. Congratulations on the nomination ??
Cayla is a wonderful, caring woman. She deserve this honor for her hard work with students and her unwavering commitment to them.
Cayla is an amazing person who always seeks to understand people and meet them where they are at. As a counselor and homeless Liaison she has a great understanding of the needs of the community and the resources available. For several years she has organized the food drive and giving tree for our school. Her consistent giving heart to families who could use a little assistance has allowed families to feel comfortable coming to her in their vulnerable state in asking for help. As homeless liaison she has been able to help physically and as counselor she has been able to help the parents and students emotionally as they run into different difficulties.
As counselor she has taught lessons in the classroom, giving the students to tools to be successful in relationships. She has had a variety of groups to meet specific needs of students. She is always looking for the good in students or situations.
As a coworker, she is a great team player, helping out wherever she is needed and provides that calming presence when others are more escalated. We are blessed to have her at our school and a part of this community!
Go Cayla! She deserves to win!
Way to go Cayla on a well deserved award. Congratulations! We are so proud of you. ??
Cayla has changed the lives of so many students in the Tonasket School District. She gives selflessly, working endless hours to help students in the way of the McKinney Vento Program, the Thanksgiving food drive, and the giving tree. On top of that, she also has the role of school counselor. I do not know how she does it all!
Miss.Cayla is one of the best councilors I know. She has helped not only my own children but my nieces, nephews, and friends kids. She has taken care of anything I have had, if it was a question or an issue she takes care of it. She is very easy to talk too as well. My child is in kindergarten and she tells me about the times she has with Miss. Cayla learning about how to be a good person and not bully. I appreciate her more than she knows, and if I had someone like her around when I was a child I might have made it further in school than I did.
Ms Cayla has been an amazing advocate for my family. She has helped my children’s emotional health and continues to support their needs as they arise. She has a bright and friendly demeanor and never hesitates to make time for those in need. Our schools are lucky to have here here to be there for our community. Thank you for all you do!
I have had the good fortune to know Ms. Monroe since she was in third grade. I have watched her grow into a young woman, doing hard work under tough circumstances. Her passion for the work is both necessary and admirable.
I served as Cayla's mentor and advisor during her first several years as a school counselor. She was an amazing co-worker. She demonstrated both good clinical sense and intuition. Her compassion was real; which at times is draining. When we parted ways professionally, I felt quite confident that Cayla would continue to grow and develop her practice.
It is now my honor to call Cayla my friend. While we still consult professionally, much of our time is simply spent as friends. In a word, Cayla is a good person. I have always found her honest, caring, professional and dedicated. I can say from the depths of my heart that she is deserving of this honor.
I am very proud of Ms. Monroe. I feel confident that she has many wonderful years to come helping children.
Cayla was a student in my 3rd grade class. I can attest to her character from an early age, and have learned from these comments how she continues to positively impact students to this day. I have no doubt she is worthy of this recognition as a life changer.
Cayla is a wonderful caring woman. She has positively impacted the lives of many children in our school district. I've seen first hand Cayla's commitments to her school, community, and family. Cayla has lived through some disappointments that she could have driven her from the stable and loving path she has created for her sons and herself. She fought through these disappointments with grace .... this has been a lifelong attribute through her life journey. Please consider Cayla for this award. She is ever so deserving.
Cayla is so deserving of this award. She cares deeply for her students and her community, helping and volunteering her time with whatever is needed. She more than deserves this award!
Students call her "Miss Cayla" and you are likely to see her greeting students as they arrive in the morning. She leads anti bullying lessons, small groups, and offers one on one support. For years she was our advocate for students struggling with homelessness and she leads our school food drive and the Holiday Giving Tree. The relationships she builds with students promotes safety and belonging to our community. She is often quiet about her achievements but is making a big difference in the lives of many.
Cayla works tirelessly for ALL of the students at Tonasket School District. We have a high poverty rate. She goes out of her way with her energy, time and resources to make sure that the students have the essentials. But this is only one of the many ways she cares for our students. She is a champion of the giving tree at Christmas. Most years she is taking care of any student that didn’t get a sponsor. Sometimes this has meant buying, wrapping and personally delivering gifts. She advocates for the mental health of students, providing quality classroom instruction, individual and group support and referrals. These are only a few of the many amazing feats she engages in for the care of the students of Tonasket Elementary. Even more than that, she has been my mentor and helped me grow in skill, ability and confidence as a new school counselor. Her knowledge and kindness have been instrumental in my career. I am so pleased to see she has been nominated for this award. Way to go Cayla!
Cayla is an amazing person and we are lucky to have her at our school! Cayla genuinely cares about everyone and really takes the time to get to know all our students. She goes above and beyond to find ways to help our students and their families in and out of school. She deserves this award for all she does in our community!
Cayla is amazing. Even when difficult situations are happening in her personal life she takes time to care for those around her. When I had a c-section she came over and helped me with my kiddos and brought us snacks.
Recently she threw an amazing surprise birthday party for a friend when she heard she may not have one.
I love knowing she is at my kiddo’s school to support them if anyone is choosing to be unkind, or if they just need a listening ear.
She deserves it! She's been a light for my kids, one in particular. She's also always been there for me to talk to with any questions or concerns. Such a kind person who genuinely cares about the kids, parents, and I'm sure even the staff. Way to go Cayla! Thank you for being you.

Thank you to all who are reading and to the Organization to recognise those who change for good the life of others.
Cayla is definitely a life changer. One example happened last year. There were some students in my class who were very good friends but sometimes would get upset with one another. When they thought their good friend was mad at them, they couldn't focus on their schoolwork. Ms. Cayla met with them a few times to talk through some strategies of how to solve problems when they weren't getting along so they could move forward and focus. Those strategies will help them throughout life!
Cayla really knows our kids and families. She goes above and beyond the call of duty to help them make connections, feel accepted and loved, and be able to thrive in our community!
Since joining our team at Tonasket, Cayla has shown great tenacity as her role as school counselor. She dedicates her time toward ensuring students and families in our community are well-cared for. Her successful holiday Giving Tree drive allows families to feel loved and children to have a sense of pride in who they are.
Cayla is well deserving of this award, I am extremely happy for her nomination and wish her well.
Cayla is amazing and makes such a big difference in the lives of all our students here at TES. We are so blessed to have her at our school and to be such a role model for our young ones.
As a school board member I became aware of Cayla’s efforts to help SO MANY children in our elementary. Socially, emotionally and working to fulfill the “basic needs” for some less fortunate in our community. All of her work to help children is always done with no personal recognition ever wanted. She is a simply a really good person!
Cayla is a compassionate, dedicated advocate for children. She most certainly deserves to receive the LifeChanger of the Year award!
We are so fortunate to have Cayla working at our school. She positively impacts the lives of students on a daily basis!
Cayla should be recognized. I have watched Cayla spend hours helping families in the community. She has worked late to organize ways to help students and their families. She has used her winter break hours to deliver food and gifts to needy families. She has spent hours on the phone during summer travels to help families with housing, food, and other needs. She cares for and goes beyond her job expectations to help others. She truly has a heart for the kids and families she serves.
