Crystal Richards is the perfect example of altruistic. She invests extra time and energy into lesson planning all while providing additional support outside regular hours. Her dedication and impacts are truly deserving of recognition.

I have never met Crystal Richards. i have never seen her teach. I have never even been in the State of California. And yet, I feel qualified to comment on her nomination for Life Changer of the Year. I was a Middle School Math teacher in Wisconsin for over 31 years. I was considered a perfectionist and a maverick for working to change the math curriculum, to make it unified and understandable, to let students have a hands-on experience. Constructivist education was my point of view. My specialty was Math competition. For many years I worked in a gifted program to implement the "thinking curriculum." After retirement I have tried to be an influencer to other teachers through the Twitter (X) medium. Through Twitter, I have met hundreds of teachers from elementary to high school. Crystal Richards (or Lady Andromeda) was a teacher I came to know very well. We have had many conversations about teaching, about presenting a creative approach, going beyond the district curriculum. I have witnessed her approach primarily in 3 ways. First, from her Amazon list, in which she asks for help on materials and resources for creative and hands-on projects. Second, through her DonorsChoose projects, in which she describes her dreams of changing the curriculum and the environment in her classroom. And Third, through her Twitter account itself, in which she presents her ideas for embellishing the curriculum and learning experience for her students. In the process, she has been a leader in presenting her ideas and projects, answering questions from other teachers, promoting their projects, reposting their requests. She has over 4,000 Twitter followers, which gives her an amazing platform and opportunity to interact with other teachers throughout the USA. She presents her own projects as Twitter posts, which thousands of teachers see and react to, and she actively interacts with them to show how they can implement similar unique projects and programs. She is also a "Between the Pages Teacher Ambassador," working with Alane Adams to help teachers promote storytelling and writing in their classroom. You will be hearing from many others commenting on their personal knowledge of Crystal Richards in how she is a life changer in her classroom, in her school, and in her community. I can only imagine how rich are her experiences in her local venue. But I hope I have shown you how much more Crystal Richards is doing as a life changer, as an agent of change that reaches thousands of teachers through her amazing work on the Twitter X platform. And so it is with pride that I highly recommend Lady Andromeda (Crystal Richards) for your LifeChanger award. She impacts the teaching of thousands of teachers, and through them, thousands of students, through all of her work. Thank you!

Her commitment to student success is evident in her willingness to invest extra time and effort to ensure every student has what they need and is given an opportunity to reach their full potential. Crystal is a C-STEM leader, transforming her classroom with the use of coding and robotics. She is passionate, driven, and works diligently to bring new resources and exciting opportunities to our school. Crystal is absolutely deserving of the Life Changer of the Year award!

Crystal is the most kind hearted individual that not only goes above and beyond for her students, but puts just as much effort in for the whole school. She doesn't treat her job as a job, she treats everyone like family and will do anything to help others. Thanks to her efforts year after year, all students start school with their own books to get them excited about reading. Best teacher ever!

Crystal is a leader and life changer at our school and in our local community! She takes care of her school community like family- creating new opportunities for fundraisers, making sure students have new experiences (she has been leading STEM at our school site for years and integrated our school with a computer science program called RoboBlocky to teach math with), and makes sure students have the resources they need. She focuses on community building with her 2nd grade class by organizing her students to do things like collect food for food bank donations and make cards for seniors in the community that need the connections. Crystal is a lifesaver as well as life changer to the staff at our school, parents, and students. She never hesitates to help those around her and help change lives without expecting anything in return. Our school site, school district, and county are fortunate to have her! She grew up in our school's local community, went to school at our school, and came back to teach. She's been selflessly advocating for her students and community for years. She is wonderfully deserving of LifeChanger of the Year!

Passionate and driven, excited about teaching, and wants to make sure her students have more than enough to learn and grow. Very optimistic, unjaded, big-hearted, loyal and friendly. She treasures her students with the utmost dedication and swells with pride in their educational or personal successes. She shows by example how to selflessly give to others. She's always willing to learn from others, fostering a rallying team mentality.

I've known Crystal for a very long time and I've watched her career as an educator progress over the years. I'm now a T.A. and I'm often inspired by Crystal's ceaseless kindness, thoughtfulness and care in everything that she does for her classes and helping her students grow as people and as pupils. She is a wonderful teacher and person.

I have never met a teacher and or a person more dedicated and passionate. I have watched her pound the pavement for donations and she’s always fundraising for projects for her kids. She has sat and cried with me over her students hurts, she rejoices their victories and I have never seen her seek a word of praise or recognition for her work. She is an inspiration!

This teacher supports her students and other teachers and is always looking for ways to help students succeed. She looks into other school systems and tries to innovate programs to make her school better and stand out among the best. She is very deserving of being called and awarded a life changing status as an educator.
