"She goes above and beyond for the students and teachers in the building, often taking on duties outside of her job title and always with a smile. She is known for being 'Johnny Appleseed' as she has dressed up as him every year and read the book of his life. The children look forward to this and are always so engaged."
"As an instructional coach, she spends countless hours mentoring new and veteran teachers who may need an ear to listen to them. She makes it a point to know the names of every student in the building and has always made great relationships with the families in the community. She does not look for recognition and often goes above and beyond for struggling teachers or students by leaving them a treat or a kind note anonymously. She is the definition of a LifeChanger; Gray's Creek Elementary School is blessed to have her," said the nominator.
Mrs. Jacobs is the definition of a life changer! She goes above and beyond for the needs of the students. Her positivity, kindness, guidance, patience, and creativity are just some of her top qualities because the list would go on and on. She is committed and passionate in everything she does. She is dedicated in supporting her students and making sure they know that she believes in their potential. Mrs. Jacobs is one of a kind!
There is no other person more deserving of this award. My mom worked so hard to become one of the most caring and passionate teachers. Her work goes far beyond the classroom, she leads by example in every way possible. She’s selfless, caring and one of the most genuine people you’ll ever meet.
Heidi Jacobs is definitely a life changer! From the moment I met her I felt her warmth and kind hearted nature. She has the sweetest heart and it shows in how much her family loves her as well. Her patience speaks to a lifetime of not only caring for others, but also teaching others how to care for each other. Heidi makes everyone around her feel loved and she deserves the best love and support our community has to offer!
Heidi has always been a huge support to me and my family, both in and out of the classroom. Heidi is the first to praise someone for their accomplishments, no matter how small and she can always encourage you when you are down. She works so hard behind the scenes and never expects anything in return. She is a wonderful person and great at her job. I am so thankful to get to know her!
I’ve known Heidi for over 20-years. When working at the hospital, I welcomed her children when born. We attended church together where she was actively involved in the children’s program. Heidi was determined to pursue her degree in education while working as a teacher’s assistant. We worked together at Gray’s Creek Elementary (I was the data manager) during her student teaching then hired as a first grade teacher. Heidi is the kindest most sincerely dedicated person I know. She’s very loyal and committed to any project presented to her. She’s an awesome wife, mother, grandmother and friend deserving of any award available.
I worked with Heidi for several years. She is an awesome educator and person.
One memory that stands out is how she helped a special needs student when many other teachers were afraid to even try to teach him. She knew it would be a daily challenge but she readily took on the immense needs of this student.
He required patience and innovative teaching methods. She met all of his needs and was able to provide the services that he needed.

Heidi makes an impact in each every person she meets. She is the brightest light on your worst days. She puts everyone’s needs above her own. She is the most popular teacher at our school and former students always come back to see her. She makes the time to develop relationships with her students and finds innovative ways to meet their particular needs. She is the most sought out resource for her peers. She supportive, caring, loving and is probably the best person I know.
I am thrilled to support my mom, Mrs. Jacobs, in the lifechanger of the year award. She is an incredible asset to the school and her community. Her hardwork and dedication shines through in her work every day. There is not a student at Grays Creek Elementary that does not love her. She is one in a million.
Heidi Jacobs is a phenomenal instructional coach, mentor, colleague, & friend. Heidi gives countless hours of her time to make sure she meets the needs of every teacher, parent, and student. There is no one she will not provide her full attention to & always does it with a smile. I always said she’s a true angel here on earth. As her former AP, we worked well together as she would check in with me each day to see how together, we could tackle the daily tasks smoothly & proficiently.
Mrs. Jacobs made a huge positive impact on my daughters first grade year. My daughter switched schools in the middle of the school year and Mrs. Jacobs was only her teacher for the back half of that year, but in that time the amount of confidence and improvement my daughter showed was extraordinary. Even after first grade Mrs. Jacobs continued to show her support for my daughter, everytime she seen her whether it was in the hallways of the school, or the drop off line Ms. Jacobs was reminding her that she was outstanding and extraordinary and she continued to inspire her that no matter how tough things are or were she could persevere. My daughter looks forward to seeing Ms. Jacobs throughout her school day and as a mom i’m so thankful for Ms. Jacobs and the positive outlook she’s given my daughter since going to her in first grade!
Mrs.Jacobs more then deserves this award she is the sweetest most selfless person I have ever met. She completely changed my oldest daughter’s life when she started school. Mrs jacobs always goes above and beyond to insure each one of her students are comfortable and successful. I would 100 vote for her every single time! She is truly an amazing person.
