Nurse Kelly ensures that each child's medical needs are met while fostering a nurturing environment, collaborating with teachers and parents, and often staying after hours to assist with health-related issues and educational sessions. Apparo Academy is a school for all children, including those with disabilities who require oxygen, have feeding tubes, or experience seizures. The school nurse plays a crucial role in ensuring these students receive the necessary medical care and support to thrive in the educational environment," said Sharp.

"Shortly after I started working at Apparo Academy, my two-year-old son was diagnosed with subglottic stenosis, which required a nine-day hospital stay. This time was incredibly challenging for our family, but the support from the community and my colleagues at Apparo Academy was unwavering. Upon his discharge, my son needed continuous care and medication to manage his condition, including daily breathing treatments. During this period, Nurse Kelly's exceptional dedication and professionalism truly shone. Nurse Kelly's attentive care and expertise brought our family immense relief and peace of mind. She tended to my son multiple times a day, ensuring he received the necessary treatments and medications. Her compassionate approach and unwavering commitment allowed me to focus on my work, knowing that my son was in the best hands. Nurse Kelly's support during this difficult time has been invaluable, and I am profoundly grateful for her kindness and exceptional care," said Sharp.
