Melanie Griffin-Hamlin's nominator would like to remain anonymous.

Mrs. Griffin-Hamlin is one of the hardest working educators out there! She stays so busy at school, but still finds time to be an awesome wife and exceptional mother to her two young children. She has received many education-related awards in her many years of teaching.

Mrs. Griffin-Hamlin not only motivates the students she teaches, but her household, as well. In fact, her husband is now enrolled back in school because of her motivation, and so is she! She is highly involved in the community and in her church, where she also teaches students on Sundays and Thursdays. She is a local celebrity when she goes out to her neighborhood Walmart; parents and students are always calling her out and having mini-conferences.

Mrs. Griffin-Hamlin always ends her conversations with one of her three H's...a handshake, a high-five, and her favorite, a hug. Her coworkers and administrators can't say enough good things about her.

"I just wanted her to know that she is appreciated and that all of her hard work is not unnoticed," said her nominator. "She is the most positive person that I know, and I am grateful for her love, dedication and sacrifice."

Melanie, you have always gone above and beyond to help others succeed in life. It is no surprise to me, that you would be nominated for the life changer award. I remember being a single mother, not trusting my little lady with many. However you mentored and tutored her paving the path that she still excels on today. Thank you for your years of selfless dedication and for all the lives you continue to change for the better including mine. I love you, your sister/friend Brenda

Mrs. G.H. took my discouraged young daughter who believed herself to be a failure at school and turned her completely around. Today she is a straight A student involved in music, art competitions and athletics. She believes in herself and her abilities because she finally had a teacher who TRULY cared about each of her students. Mrs. G.H. is head and shoulders above any other teacher any of my four other children ever had!

Melanie has done an outstanding job mentoring students. She coaches them regardless of their performance level and shares various approaches that will enhance their capabilities. Above all else Melanie models successful behaviors, a high performance work ethic, and constant self-improvement that is extremely important for her students.
