Tammie Quach was nominated by her colleague, Bonnie Wong.

Mrs. Quach is truly a LifeChanger in the eyes of her students and at Castelar Elementary! She puts in a lot and time and effort to help each and every one of her students. Before the current school year ends, she is already planning the next school year for her future students. Students look up to her for help and guidance.

Mrs. Quach is always finding ways to work with her students, no matter what academic levels they're at. Students who have graduated from Castelar Elementary always come back to thank her for the knowledge she has given them while they were in her classroom. Mrs. Quach is strict when it comes to her academic teaching in the classroom, but she's truly looking out for her students' best interest. She plans educational field trips for students throughout the year so they can also learn outside the classroom. She intergrates many aspects of STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics) for all her students and provide equal opportunites for all students to learn in her classroom.

Mrs. Quach is truly a professional. She not only provides support for her students, but also to her fellow coworkers. As the fifth grade lead teacher, she is always going out of her way to make sure that those who need help receive the help and assistance they need.

"As a new teacher, I've called on her for many situations. She has taken me under her wing and gifted me with so much knowledge from her experiences as a teacher," said Wong.

Mrs. Quach provides a very nurturing and safe enviroment for her students because they respect her position as their teacher, and colleagues respect her for the knowledge and experience she has. She has been with Castelar Elementary for more than ten years. She has even been invited to college graduations of former students whom she continued to nurture guide, even after they graduated. Mrs. Quach is truly a LifeChanger for these students!

Mrs. Quach is able to take control of any situation given to her and provide leadership to make the best of what she is given. She has high moral and ethical standards. She makes sures that all students are given the same access to their academics and makes sure that no child is left behind. Castelar Elementary is proud to have her on board, leading students with a strong foundation as they leave elementary school to start their new journey in middle school. The impact that she has made on students are beyond what words can describe.

"Overall, if anyone is qualified to be a LifeChanger, it would be none other than Mrs. Tammie Quach," said Wong. "She is truly a dedicated LifeChanger aiming to do the best she can with all her students and those around her."

As a Castelar alumni, I see what a positive influence Tammie has had on the lives of her students and what a tremendous impact she has made to Castelar and the community. Many ex-students still look up to her as a teacher and mentor. It's a testament to her dedication to her students and profession. And I appreciate who she is and what she does because she does it out of love.

Back in 4th grade, Ms. Quach's method of teaching was vigorous, yet sincere. I remember that her most iconic line back then was, "Life is never fair." And though this may seem harsh, we absolutely respected and admired her honesty. She truly wanted us learn, grow, and be successful not only academically, but personally as well. I'm sure that many friends who were in my 4th grade class would agree. We are all in college or starting our careers, but we still chat with Ms. Quach once in awhile. She never fails to give us her knowledgeable, thoughtful advice about college, career choices, relationships, and life in general. Because of the guidance she gave me as a dedicated teacher and caring friend, after almost a decade later, Ms. Quach is still my favorite teacher. All in all, I took this time to say that I am so grateful that I was in her 4th grade class. I wouldn't be the person I am today without her support. Thank you so much, Ms. Quach -- you'll always be a life changer in our hearts!

Mrs. Quach is a dedicated professional who manages to balance raising her own 3 kids and teaching 25+ kids beautifully! She finds unique ways to engage her students, and makes learning fun. Mrs. Quach deserves this award!

Tammie was my student for two advanced math classes when she was in high school. Her tenacity, sensitivity and courage during her high school years showcased her resilience and thoughtful approach to remembering her past and focusing her future. She understands the journeys of her students, and her high expectations and her sense of humor give her students a safe place to excel. Her students are fortunate to have her guidance. I have always been proud of her achievement.
