Patrice Strickland was nominated by her colleague, Velda Benjamin Gilyot.

"It is truly an honor to select my co-worker as a LifeChanger. Patrice Strickland is a gem of a teacher and counselor. She has only been working with me for the past two years and has been an educator for 22 years. Ms. Strickland communicates well with the students and their parents. She finds time each day to chat with students about their grades, achievements, and the classes they must step up in. She is a great supporter of the football and basketball teams. That's because several of her students play ball. Ms. Strickland finds a variety of scholarships for our students for summer and fall after-school programs. She truly deserves this award, and I whole-heartedly nominate her for it. She takes educating our youth very seriously," said Gilyot.

Patrice Strickland is a dedicated counselor who goes above and beyond to support the young men at St. Augustine High School. She is a strong advocate for her students, helping them to achieve their academic and personal goals.
