LifeChanger of the Year Nominee Profile

Jonathan Lackey was nominated by Marilyn Stennett.

"Three words to describe Mr. Lackey are talented, creative, and inspirational," said Stennett. This year, Mr. Lackey had a student perform at Fulton County's top band event for the first time. This has been a goal of his for a few years. Not only did he help prepare this student with their instrument, but he also helped develop their self-confidence in competing and deepen their love of music. Students have made the district honor band and auditioned for All-State."

"This year, Mr. Lackey and his performance band were selected to perform at the Atlanta Hartsfield Airport in December for their Annual Tree Lighting Ceremony. Through this partnership, our students have been offered opportunities to showcase their skills and be around several executives and business leaders in our local community. We also are a go-to partner for the City of College Park and perform annually at their Fall and Winter events. This year, our music department hosted its first annual Drumming into Fall event, which collaborated with several local high schools. This event encourages a great partnership with other educators in South Fulton to help build strong relationships for our students and families. He continues to build relationships with other schools in the county to foster stronger music collaboration and growth," said Stennett.
