Katie Greene was nominated by Magan Brown, a parent of a student.

"Katie Greene has been my son Owen's teacher for two years now. She has seen the struggles our family has gone through with Owen's dad getting a kidney transplant and multiple health issues we have gone through. She has been so supportive of Owen. Owen feels so connected to her that he even knows when her birthday is, and he surprised her with a birthday cake and card. Ms. Greene has helped us navigate Owen's health so he is able to now focus on his work. He has made so many improvements. We appreciate all the support Ms. Greene has shown us. Owen loves school. Anyone that has the privilege of having Ms. Greene as their teacher will know what an amazing person she is," shared Brown.

What an honor for Katie to be considered for this honor. I knew her when she was young through the church we both attended while I was pursuing ordination. She was loving, engaging, caring, reliable, and fun to be with. She responded lovingly with young children even as a young teen. It is inspiring to see those qualities translate positively into her career path. Her parents provided a solid foundation for a superb professional. The Rev. Carole Wageman

One of the best teacher and human I know. Nobody deserves this award as much as she does. She constantly goes above and beyond for all her students no matter what.
