Thomas Stuber was nominated by an anonymous student.

As a freshman in high school, the student often grappled with feelings of sadness stemming from various life events, particularly the emotional impact of their father's move without prior notice. Seeking support, they reached out to the school counselor, Mr. Stuber.

"Do you have time to talk," was their initial query to Mr. Stuber. That day marked the beginning of a forty-minute conversation during which they shared the innermost thoughts and emotions that they had bottled up, fearing vulnerability.

Mr. Stuber emerged as a pivotal figure in the student's life, guiding them through numerous challenges from their first meeting onward. Their bond grew beyond counselor and student; Mr. Stuber became a trusted confidant and friend.

"Mr. Stuber helped me feel better about everything going on," the student reflected.

Through it all, Mr. Stuber's compassion extended beyond counseling sessions.

"Thank you, Mr. Stuber, for helping me become a better person and navigate challenging times," the student said.
