Mr. Hoch's background as a former Arrowhead graduate and standout basketball player at Carroll University left a lasting impression. "He is the best basketball player I have ever seen," the student remarked.
Despite not being a basketball enthusiast, they appreciated Mr. Hoch's prowess on the court during gym class. The student specifically recalled their experiences in gym and health classes with Mr. Hoch. "Even though Health class is more of a classroom setting, he made it such a fun class to attend," they noted.

The student fondly remembered a classroom joke involving turning off the lights that became a regular occurrence in their interactions with Mr. Hoch. "Mr. Hoch always asked me about hockey and how I was doing," they recalled. "Every day in class, whether it was first and second-hour gym or ninth and tenth-hour health, he would always have a conversation with me."
