Jana Danay was nominated by teacher Sebastien Fleurant and student Taylor Thimmesch.

Mrs. Danay expressed concern about one of her nominators whose sister relayed her worries about them based on what she heard. In just a few weeks of interaction, the nominator realized how deeply Mrs. Danay cared for her students.

"She shows care and concern for all of us here at Arrowhead Union High School," the student reflected, "but she makes it personal like she's looking out for each of us."

Despite the student's initial lack of interest in Intro to Business class, Mrs. Danay's approach changed their perspective entirely.

"I didn't expect to look forward to class," the student admitted, "but Mrs. Danay made it different. She made learning engaging."

Mrs. Danay's approachability and genuine concern for her students stood out to the nominator.

"She's always understanding," he noted, "always looking to solve the underlying issue behind missed assignments."

In the student's experience, Mrs. Danay went beyond the typical teacher-student relationship, fostering a sense of community within her classroom.

"I felt more connected in her class than in others," the student recalled. "She encouraged us to get to know one another. I've only known her for two semesters, but I learned a lot about her. She's like a mom more than just a teacher."

The student credited Mrs. Danay with brightening their day.

"Most days, her class was the highlight," he said. "She'd always check-in, and it meant a lot."

Enrolling in a graphic design for business class solely because Mrs. Danay taught it, the student recognized her lasting impact.

"She'll be a teacher I'll remember for a long time," they concluded.
