Christina Dodge was nominated by an anonymous student.

The nominator reflected on the various classes they had taken over the years as a student. One classroom experience stood out vividly in their memory due to the remarkable teacher they encountered.

The student's sophomore year at Arrowhead Union High School was exceptional, marked by new friendships and engaging courses. However, one teacher, Mrs. Dodge, left an indelible impression on the student.

"Mrs. Dodge stood out to me the most because of her selflessness, joy, and ability to teach like no other," the student recalled. Despite not having a natural inclination toward math, they found themselves enamored with Advanced Algebra under Mrs. Dodge's guidance.

"I was ecstatic to go to her warm, coffee-smelling classroom every day," the student reminisced. They attributed their newfound enthusiasm for math to Mrs. Dodge's exceptional teaching style.

A defining aspect of Mrs. Dodge's class was her personal touch.

"She would always welcome me with a 'Good morning, how are you,'" the student fondly recalled, cherishing the daily conversations that ensued. Beyond the subject matter, Mrs. Dodge's class facilitated lasting friendships for the student.

"A girl in this class with me is now one of my best friends," the student noted gratefully.

The student was overwhelmed with other subjects as finals approached, but their understanding of Mrs. Dodge's lessons allowed them to excel effortlessly.

"I ended up getting a 96% on the final exam just because of how much I learned in that class," the student recounted, highlighting Mrs. Dodge's teaching's impact.

When it came time to seek college recommendations, the student regretted not being able to ask Mrs. Dodge because she was not a current teacher.

"If she were, she would be the first person I'd go to," the student admitted, recognizing Mrs. Dodge's potential endorsement.

Now a senior, the student looks back on their transformative experiences with gratitude.

"I will now forever enjoy math class because of Mrs. Dodge," they affirmed, acknowledging the profound influence of their former teacher.

In conclusion, the student expressed heartfelt thanks to Mrs. Dodge for her kindness, passion, and care as an educator and a person.
