Rosalee Pearson was nominated by a colleague, Denise Pearson.
"Rosalee has been a dedicated teacher for students with special needs for almost 12 years. She spent five years as a special education teacher for students with significant support needs in a transition program. Rosalee has spent nearly seven years as a teacher of the Deaf and blind. I could go on for several pages, talking about the lives she has changed as an educator. Not only has she impacted the lives of her students, but she has also helped their families," said Denise.
"One example of how she helped a student reach higher levels was to help one of her students and their family be aware of a college opportunity for students with special needs. Rosalee called the university and set up a campus tour for the student and their mom, which started the process for the student to apply for this program. They made it in and attended the program for two years. The program changed the student's life and opened many more opportunities. This is only one example of how Rosalee has made a difference. She continues to make a difference in whatever capacity she serves in education," said Denise.
I have worked with Rose for a number of years as a Teacher of Deafblind. She gives 100% to the students on her caseload! She is also a member of many additional teams to help support students and families. She has helped created monthly flyers to help build capacity for other professionals and paras. This year, she led the online training team that reaches professionals from all over the US, who are looking for information and resources in the very narrow and specific field of deafblindness. She is always willing to help others, and to make her students lives better. She is a great teacher, co-worker and friend! Go Rose!
Rosalee is a wonderful mentor and friend. She is one of the most genuine people I know. And, she's full of knowledge and expertise in the field of deafblindness. She is always happy to give time to help consult on students that are not on her caseload to help other teams. Her passion for her students and to better the lives of all is evident. When she provides training, you can tell she cares deeply about what she is teaching and wants to impart those skills to others. I remember earlier this year doing a deafblind simulation with an entire grade level, not an easy feat, for one of her students that truly impacted him and his classmates in many positive ways. And that was just for ONE student. She has touched many lives already and will continue to do so because that is the person she is!
Rosalee has dedicated her life to helping others. Whether in her professional life or personal life. She is genuine, generous and kind to everyone she meets.
We were at the grocery store and Rosalee saw a baby who has vision impairment. She approached the mother and had a wonderful conversation complementing the mother on all she is doing and encouraging her. You could tell the mother was touched by her thoughtfulness.
I'm so grateful to be able to learn from Rosalee's example of kindness to all.
I knew Rosalee Pearson in college. She has always made her life about serving others and making sure people feel loved. She has a great relationship with her family, including her nieces and nephews. She is very professional, organized, and serious about her work.
Rosalee is an outstanding educator, mentor, and friend. As I am a new Teacher of the DeafBlind, she has gone out of her way to help me in times of need. I really appreciate and look up to Rosalee. She truly has made a positive impact on my life and I know she continues to do so in her students’ lives.
I worked with Rose at NorthRidge she was a very caring and dedicated employee . She is very deserving of this honor.
I had the opportunity to work with Rosalee as a student. She has meant the absolute world to me. She has taught me so much and has supported me with so much. She has changed my life!!! She 100 percent deserves this award! I wouldn’t be who I am today without her support and kindness.
