Virginia Yandell was nominated by a parent of a student, Barton Bechard.

"Virginia Yandell cares for her students and goes well beyond all expectations one might have for this important role. She brings out each student's strengths, cares for them, and provides the resources needed for her students to excel in their learning. Miss Yandell has done great things for my son, who can be challenging when not engaged with the activity but is enthusiastic about school for the first time. She also identified and sought out help for my son's issues with pronouncing certain sounds," said Bechard. "Virginia should be recognized for her stellar work!"

Mrs. Yandell was my son’s 2nd grade teacher. She is kind, thoughtful and inspires a love for learning in her students! My son was excited to go to school and his learning excelled. Whenever I communicated with her, she was always supportive and helpful. She embodies what a great teacher should be and we are so lucky to have her at EES!

Mrs. Yandell is a thoughtful, empathetic, and dedicated educator. Her kind approach immediately helps students to feel seen, heard and cared for. She was my son's second grade teacher and ten years later he still talks about the impact she had on him. He often refers to her as his kindest and most optimistic teacher! I have had the privilege of working with Mrs. Yandell. We can always count on her for help, support and cheer! I wish for a world filled with more humans like Virginia Yandell!!!
