Ga young (Erin) Kwon was nominated by a colleague, Andrea Jacobi.
"If I were to describe Erin in three words, they would be understanding, compassionate, and memorable. Erin is the kind of teacher who finds a way to relate to every child in her classroom and make them feel welcomed, loved, and safe," said Jacobi.
"Currently, Erin is teaching fifth grade and utilizing her TESOL license to work with students who are English language learners. This particular population of students is close to her heart as she was an English Language Learner growing up. She uses her experiences to relate to and support her students in the best possible way. Her classroom is a safe space for students to learn and grow," said Jacobi.
"Having been Erin's co-teacher previously, I could see firsthand her dedication to making her students feel welcomed and supported. Our students still get so excited to see her in the hallway," said Jacobi.
"It is hard to put into words why Erin is a LifeChanger. The reality is that there are a million wonderful teachers in our world. However, there is only one Ms. Kwon. If you ask any of her students who have made a memorable impact in their lives, they will say, Ms. Kwon," said Jacobi.
