James Noviello was nominated by a colleague, Meredith Barnwell.

"Mr. Noviello has an incredible impact on the people he encounters, whether student or coworker. He is selfless and takes the time to motivate, support, and encourage. Mr. Noviello has an inspiring dedication to his students and school. Mr. Noviello is one of the first ones here at school and one of the last ones to leave in the afternoons," said Barnwell.

"He has been involved in many activities throughout his tenure, including coaching wrestling and football. He is a Prayer at the Pole leader, a Family and Community Engagement representative for the school, and the head of Welcome Wednesday. He is an advocate for strong community involvement in the school," said Barnwell.

"He has shown exceptional leadership skills outside of the classroom. Mr. Noviello was selected as administrator for our summer school program, where he has proven to excel in leadership inside and outside the classroom. He has a strong initiative to encourage team bonding and show appreciation to his coworkers. Mr. Noviello has demonstrated this by providing lunches for the teachers during summer school to help promote a strong bond among them. He sets up a monthly luncheon for his team during the school year. He fosters a strong student work ethic and is a champion for creating a positive work environment," said Barnwell.

"Mr. Noviello has had some very challenging times in his life that, for most, would have hindered them from succeeding in life. Instead of letting those difficulties destroy him, he chose to change his life and use his experiences to be a life changer for his students. Even in discouraging times, he accepts criticism and challenges positively by reflecting and applying necessary changes. His approachable and engaging demeanor has shown to be successful during his time here at Gray Station Middle School. Mr. Noviello's record of excellent performance at the professional level, commitment to producing a nurturing atmosphere, adherence to high moral and ethical standards, and proven ability to make a difference in his students' lives are why he was nominated for the LifeChanger of the Year Award. There are not enough words to describe how incredible Mr. Noviello is. Mr. Noviello deserves to be recognized for his excelling characteristics and qualities as a teacher and coworker," said Barnwell.

James has been a great help to me and my colleagues since I have met him. He is super knowledgeable about content and is always willing to share plans and ideas with the Social Studies teams at both Jones County middle schools. It has been a pleasure meeting and working with him on collaborative planning. He has high goals for his students and for himself and I wish him the best of luck in achievement.

I can always count on Mr. Noviello to greet me with a smile. His wealth of knowledge and wisdom come from teaching both in the classroom and on the field. He is a team leader that diligently works for and with his peers. He is a man of integrity that his students and colleagues can always count on. He is always the first one to offer to help in any situation. Mr. Noviello is our family and community engagement coordinator and works countless hours before and after school to create a welcoming environment for our families. His goal is for both the school and community to work together for the benefit of our students. He goes above and beyond the call of a teacher and exemplifies what a true educator embodies.

I had the opportunity to work for Mr. Noviello during summer school as my administrator. He was encouraging and supportive of the students and staff during those several weeks. He has a kind heart and is always willing to be a helping hand. Recently we have served on our counties Family Engagement team. Walmart donated bikes to his middle school, instead of keeping them all he called to let me know and we also received a donation for my middle school. He is selfless and dedicated to his school, his people and his students.
