LifeChanger of the Year Nominee Profile

Kate Mara was nominated by a parent of a student, Jaime Salagaj.

"Kate Mara is a LifeChanger for so many reasons! Kate is a second grade teacher and is also the leader of the school's drama club and student council.  My kids are part of those activities.  Kate enthusiastically teaches the children about acting and service to others through the extracurricular activities she leads.  She takes the time to get to know her students' strengths and offers them roles based on their strengths and abilities.  She has encouraged my daughter to do more and do things outside of her comfort zone.  She guides the students with humor and grace, and they admire and respect her for it.  She puts countless hours into the drama program, which shows in her productions!  Our community is better because she is in it," said Salagaj.
