Charles Tucker was nominated by a colleague, Brittany Wilkins.
"He has gone out of his way to help every student obtain what they need to succeed, from a ride to an event, buying lunch or breakfast because they missed it, or even being their champion when something has come up at school. He is a gift to this community," said Wilkins.
Mr. Tucker was my teacher for senior year way back in 2015. He was always encouraging and extremely supportive and compassionate towards his students. He was the only teacher that allowed me to feel heard and motivated to continue my education.
Mr. Tucker is an asset to Gulfport High School. He is passionate about our students and finding ways to make them successful. His dedication and innovative approach to work-based learning has made a profound impact on both students, colleagues, and the school community.
Mr. Tucker has consistently demonstrated a remarkable commitment to fostering an environment that bridges the gap between classroom education and real-world application. Through his tireless efforts, students under his guidance have gained invaluable hands-on experience, developing practical skills that will undoubtedly serve them well in their future careers. Mr. Tucker is very deserving of the LifeChanger of the Year Award.
Mr.Tucker is a vital member of our school community. He has contributed to the success of many GHS students. The dedication he has to helping our students acquire internship positions in local businesses as well as overseeing many community based programs our district has partnered with that directly help our students is extremely evident. He has such great relationships with students, they trust his judgment and know he has their best interests at heart. Mr. Tuckert is one of a kind and I am so appreciative he chooses to work at GHS and give his ALL to our students!
Mr. Tucker is an outstanding teacher and mentor to students! He is the type of teacher you would be thankful for your child to have in their corner. He is an educator that looks out for the entire student! He values each individual student and truly wants to see them excel in life, not just in his courses. He is changing the trajectory of many lives, in a positive way.
