Music that Describes Chaundrea

Chaundrea Allen was nominated by her husband, Kevin Allen.

"Mrs. Allen goes over and beyond for her students. She's very involved in her student's education as well as engagement. For the last three years, she's gone over and beyond for the students at her school. She does a lot of outside-of-school events for her students. Monthly, she has family engagement activities for parents and students," said Kevin.

"To name a few, she does paint and play parties for the students, meet and greets, carnival-themed events, ice cream socials, a spring picnic on the lawn, and a virtual Disney World trip at the end of the school year. Mrs. Allen serves as a teacher and the campus liaison for a CHIPP program through her sorority, Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. This program provides students with nutritious meals for the weekends. Each Friday, Mrs. Allen provides students with a backpack or food and snacks to ensure they have food throughout the weekend," said Kevin.

"Recently, Mrs. Allen was awarded Teacher of the Month for September 2023. For the 2022-2023 school year, Mrs. Allen was awarded Teacher of the Year in November and March. Mrs. Allen is a teacher who gives her all every day. You wouldn't want to leave if you entered Mrs. Allen's class. She's very engaged and hands-on with her students. Mrs. Allen's parents love her," said Kevin.

"I would love to nominate Mrs. Allen for the LifeChanger of the Year award as she is being very impactful and setting a great foundation for her students daily," said Kevin.

I know Mrs Allen does many great things at our school, some of these I didn't know about. She does many other things that weren't mentioned. She planned and organized an elaborate week long celebration of our 3 Assistant Principals just last week. She passed out copies of a book to all of her fellow teachers about making connections in the classroom. I don't know what it's like to be a student in her class, but I know what it's like to pass her in the hall or cafeteria. She speaks life into others, always has an upbeat and positive attitude, and her joy is contagious. I'm not in her building, I don't teach what she teaches. When I asked my neighbors for help, they said they go to Mrs. Allen. She's made time for me and made it clear her door is open, and all are welcomed. She doesn't just expect her students to be successful, but she wants to see her fellow teachers also be successful. She makes me feel valued.
