"Sherry Benjamin can be described as caring, focused, and passionate for children and others beyond comparison. I have worked with and have known Sherry Benjamin for over three years. She was the first one to accept me with open arms when I entered the new school year three years ago. She is a genuine person who delivers love and concern for others," said Fields.
"Sherry Benjamin brings a positive, nurturing atmosphere to the school. She influences students by motivating them to develop a growth mindset. She encourages students to think critically through engaging activities and opportunities. Sherry provides opportunities for students to love the joy of learning," said Fields. "She wants to impact and help students grow students academically, emotionally, and socially so that they can live productive lives."
"Sherry has received the Pioneer Award from Dallas ISD and the Exxon Mobil Teacher Academy Science Teachers award. She is actively engaged in her church and women's groups where she has taken on many leadership roles that help encourage other women," said Fields.
"Sherry has worked as a community volunteer and instructor for my nonprofit Rae's Hope, which empowers girls who live in underserved and under-resourced communities," said Fields.
"Her leadership and experience working with youth and other stakeholders has been inspirational in building the self-esteem and confidence in the lives of young girls. Girls enjoy her affectionate and tender ways, which make them feel wanted and cared about when she comes around. Sherry has assisted with building monthly events and teaching social skills, which helps improve girls' social etiquette. I am proud to say Sherry Benjamin is a LifeChanger for our youth," said Fields.
Sherry is a strong and kind leader. She focuses on the whole child and advocates for her students. She is an amazing team mate, sharing her experiences, resources and support for all those around her. She is so deserving of this award!
Ms. Benjamin is new to the Multi-Tiered Systems of Support Department. As her lead, it has been a pleasure to see her dedication in making her students become successful readers. She provides support and the appropriate levels of challenge during her lessons. Her students are showing growth in reading, which is the goal of MTSS. Ms. Benjamin is truly a life changer and a great addition to our department!

I had the pleasure of working with Sherry for 8 years, and in that time I witnessed her true love of imparting knowledge to our students. Her beautiful smile when her students rose to her expectations of what she KNEW they could do was priceless. She not only taught them academically, but instilled in them a desire to be all they could be, to work hard to reap great benefits, and to love themselves, because she loved them. What great gifts!!! her mentorship, her Destination Imagination teams discovered skills they didn’t know they had, and represented our school well with their creative problem solving. Her fellowship with and support of coworkers, especially her unique kinship with new teachers, benefited us all.

Sherry is one of the most compassionate and wisest friend I could ever have. Whenever I need a pick me up she is always there lifting me up!
