Donna Mohamadi was nominated by a colleague, Jamie Alarcon.

Throughout Ms. Mohamadi's educational tenure, she has worked with vulnerable populations of students. She has not only taught them needed skills, but she has also given them the confidence and tools to succeed in life beyond high school. Ms. Mohamadi is the teacher who students gravitate to, the teacher who they feel welcomed by each and every day. She orchestrates her classroom environment and teaching, creating a place where students are stress-free and can build from their experiences.

"Her calm and loving demeanor allows students to feel from their first time meeting her that they are welcome and that they are loved," Alarcon said.

Every student who crosses her path gets a new smile every day. It does not matter if the student had a bad day and took it out on her - her core belief is that everyone starts with a clean slate. Her deep understanding of teens allows them to flourish in her class, not only with social-emotional skills, but with literacy and writing abilities.

"Donna is a champion for every student, for every staff member, and for the community as a whole. For her incredible tenure in education, Donna deserves the title of a LifeChanger for the students of Glendale Unified School District," Alarcon said.

Even though I have only known Donna since the beginning of the school year, I could tell immediately that she is an excellent educator. I was the nervous teacher that was new to the school, Donna put me at ease right away. She offered me sage advice and thanks to her powerful words, I was able to approach my first day with confidence. Thank you, Donna, for being so open and caring! Not only are you a life changer for students, but you also inspire teachers as well! <3

Donna Mohamadi is the definition of life changer. There is not one student that does not come into her room that is not changed positively in some way. Many times throughout the year when there is a student that is frustrating all of their teachers, Mrs. Mohamadi will say, "give them to me, I will work with them." She is able to get them to succeed in areas they never thought they could. Also, no matter what is going on in her life she always puts her students and other staff first. You always feel you, and the students, are her priority. Daily High School is truly fortunate to have such a great teacher.
