Dennis Gallagher was nominated by his principal, Beth Terzo.
"Frenchtown is incredibly fortunate to count Dennis Gallagher among its dedicated employees. Since joining us as a custodial engineer at Frenchtown Middle and High School in 2018, Dennis has consistently proven himself as one of the most dynamic members of our team. His commitment to his job goes above and beyond the call of duty, evident in his habit of tidying up even before officially punching in," said Terzo.
"What truly sets Dennis apart is his unwavering commitment to fostering positive interactions. He brightens the day of both students and staff with his warm smiles and friendly greetings. Dennis doesn't let the perpetual messes left by students faze him; instead, he tirelessly continues his work, even when students leave their marks on the high school's entry doors. Instead of scolding or displaying irritation, he re-cleans the doors without complaint," said Terzo.
"Dennis takes immense pride in his work, exemplified by his post-lunch ritual of disinfecting every cafeteria table and chair, meticulously arranging them, fully aware that students rearrange them the next day, if not the next period! While some may question the effort, Dennis remains steadfast in his dedication," said Terzo.
"Furthermore, Dennis's flexibility and willingness to accommodate the needs of our students shine through when we have to place students in the cafeteria immediately after lunch, causing a delay in his work," said Terzo. "Without a word of complaint, he adapts and collaborates seamlessly with us to ensure our students' well-being. Dennis consistently demonstrates a prompt and efficient approach to tasks, even those outside his designated responsibilities."
"Remarkably, Dennis never misses a day of work and never seeks anything in return for his extraordinary dedication. He embodies the spirit of selflessness and commitment that makes our school community stronger every day. Frenchtown is truly privileged to have Dennis Gallagher as a member of our team, and his exceptional work ethic and positive attitude continue to significantly impact our school community," said Terzo.
Dennis brings a smile and a positive attitude to his daily work with our middle school students. Not only does he keep our school looking nice and clean, but he is a welcoming adult for all students. Thank you, Dennis, for making our school a more wonderful place for all of us!
As a newer employee to the school district there were many unfamiliar faces at the beginning of my first year. Dennis was a person who stood out immediately with a friendly smile and a positive greeting. His subtle impact and outstanding work ethic throughout our school is recognized and appreciated. Dennis- through his most gentle and genuine spirit- exemplifies kindness, consideration and respect to all without exception. He is humble but truly a role model to our students both on an interpersonal level as well as being a hard worker. He works quietly yet efficiently- one has only to look around to see his handiwork in keeping our schools clean and safe. Dennis is always positive with a ready smile and a pleasant attitude. He is that person that makes your day better simply by being "Dennis".

Dennis has an infectious attitude of positivity. I don't think I have ever had an encounter with him where he didn't greet me with a smile on his face, asking how I was doing. Whenever we cross paths in the hallway, and say hi to one another, I can't help but change my mood based on our interactions. Although I can imagine the tasks he performs must feel monotonous and disrespectful at times, I applaud his attitude and motivation to help keep the school running. His tasks are often thankless, but his execution is a necessary and integral part of the function of our school and he performs them with very positive approach.
Dennis is a pleasure to work with as he exemplifies a kind spirit and hard worker. He is diligent in his job of making our school clean and polished. He takes pride in his work and always has a smile. While soft spoken he exudes friendliness to all around him. I am grateful to work with him and feel his genuineness. He sets a pretty high standard for all of us to follow.
Dennis brings positivity to our staff and students every day! He is extremely dependable and our school is a much better place with him working in it! I cannot think of someone more deserving.

Dennis is, hands down, one of the most positive people I know. He goes out of his way to look up and acknowledge those who pass him with a genuine smile. He is willing to help out beyond his assigned duties. For example, he took a struggling middle school student in for one period a day and allowed him to help out a few years ago. In that situation, he developed a positive relationship and lead by example what goes into be a hard worker. We are so lucky to have him here at Frenchtown School District!
Dennis always brightens students and staffs day with a friendly smile! He is eternally positive no matter the situation. Dennis also takes great pride in his work. His attention to detail and demand for perfection is unmatched! It is truly incredible how he can take two different lunch rooms in our 6-12 building and leaving them with spotless floors and have every single table in the exact correct position on a daily basis. Having people like Dennis in the building helps us all strive to be our best!

Dennis is one of the kindest, most caring people I have ever met. He is truly engaged in the school environment and with the students especially. The kids will ask him for help while he is cleaning the cafeteria and he is always ready to help with a smile. When students were asked to write down one staff member that they could get help from at school, many wrote Mr. Dennis.
Dennis knew my name the first week I was here, not because he had to, he didn't, but because he cares just that much. He is more than an employee here, he embodies everything that we strive to teach our students to be, kind, gentle and caring.
There is never a time Dennis is not working hard. He is always striving to keep our facilities in top-notch condition. He has a great attitude and every time I see him in the hallway he greets me with a positive smile! This school wouldn't run without Dennis!
In a work environment where "that's not my job," has become the slogan of so many, Dennis shows through example that everything we can do to help is our job. Dennis is supportive of all those around him and is willing to share his skills when and wherever needed. During the Summer months when there is no activity in his assigned area, Dennis works with our maintenance department. He is not only willing to take on any assignment given, but is also able to recognize things that need to be done to create a better and safe environment for students and staff. I can say without hesitation that our school district would not be the same without Dennis.
Dennis, is such a ray of sunshine. I don't work directly with him, we are on separate campuses. However, when ever I do happen to run into him he always asks how my day went and has taken the time to ask someone what my name is. He is always working hard, and takes pride in making our school look great.
Dennis is the kind of person that is always smiling, always friendly and always working hard to make life at school better for all of us. I have never seen him angry or upset, even when working with difficult teens. With the recent turnover we have seen in the workplace, Dennis has remained consistent and committed to his job. We are very fortunate to have Dennis at Frenchtown High School!!
