Jamie Weaver was nominated by a student.

"Mr. Weaver has been at Liberty High School for over a decade, committed to the calling to educate, mentor, coach, and uplift hundreds of students," said the student.

"When I joined the band program as a freshman, I was unsure what I was getting into, and I wasn't the easiest person to deal with," said the student. "Mr. Weaver never gave up on me, for which I'm thankful. He has the patience and enthusiasm to nurture everyone when it comes to hard work, commitment, and the love of music. He creates an atmosphere of belonging and being part of a family."

"Not all moments in marching band are glorious. Mr. Weaver teaches us how to be consistent all the time, every time. We have to show up and work hard, which is easy because he is also like that. Mr. Weaver is always there working hard with us. He teaches us that our best moments are when we care and do things for others. Whether it's a difficult piece of music, a challenging rehearsal, or a high-stakes performance, Mr. Weaver guides and supports us to give our absolute best," said the student.

"I observed my peers and how they loved being part of the Band Program. Many advanced in fine arts and pursued music education as their career choice. His ability to connect with everyone personally is remarkable and creates an environment where we are valued and empowered."

"I want to express my respect and admiration for Mr. Weaver and thank him for being there for us," said the student.

"In conclusion, I want to endorse Mr. Weaver for the LifeChanger of the Year Award. His passion for music, ability to inspire, and dedication to our success make him an exceptional Band Director and an outstanding person. He has touched the lives of countless students, making us a better version of ourselves," said the student.

We have known Mr. Weaver since 2013 when our first son entered Liberty High school. We had just moved to Texas and being in band gave him an instant group of friends . Mr. Weaver’s guidance has shaped him to be the man he is today -smart, polite, vibrant and with a positive outlook on life. Mr. Weaver is a personal coach, confidant, friend, mentor, and an adopted father to the band kids. It gives us much peace of mind that our children are well taken care of. Discipline, work ethics, perseverance, and patience are some of the hidden lessons being taught under his guidance. We have been to several band shows and contests over the past nine years and have seen Liberty High School students exhibit their best behavior, demonstrate camaraderie, cheer their hearts out for other performers, and emulate the spirit of sportsmanship at every opportunity. After every contest, Mr. Weaver sends out a motivational email and it serves as a reminder of who we are, and why we work towards the common goal of building long-lasting friendships and enjoy being part of this team. We had two children graduate from the band program and go on to college and become productive members of society. We couldn’t be happier that Mr. Weaver is leading the Liberty High school band program and have full confidence that our child is in good hands.

As Jamie’s colleague, I cannot think of a more deserving person. I teach Orchestra at Liberty with him. We have worked together for ten years. He is the most generous soul, professionally, musically, and personally. There has never been a competitive nature between our organizations, instead one of pure collaboration, trust, and love. Jamie is a wonderful leader: humble, caring, nurturing. He leads by example and would be the last one to brag on himself. I’ve loved my time working with him, and he has become one of my best friends and my family. He has truly changed my life for the better.

He is just amazing. The amount of support he is able to give should not be possible. Truly has left an outstanding impact on myself as well as my brothers and family. He is not just some director, but a mentor, friend, and family.

Mr. Weaver is such an encouraging and kind teacher. As a parent of two band students, I am so grateful for the discipline and the love of music he inspires in my boys. The skills they have gained being a part of the band program are a reflection of his dedication and commitment to the district’s motto to know every student by name and need. Congratulations, Mr. Weaver! So well deserved!

As a parent of a band/percussion student, his dedication and commitment is par to none. I see the kids transform right be fore my eyes in just a matter of weeks. I see the students care to be better, strive to reach their goals and these are all great attributes to prepare them for what is beyond High School. He is where he needs to be to impact thousands of band kids that come through his program. I support this endorsement!
