Music that Describes Mardi

Mardi Brown was nominated by her principal, Dominick Vergara.

"Three words to describe Mardi Brown would be positive, servant, and leader," said Vergara. "Mrs. Brown has completely transformed the culture and atmosphere at Baker Public Schools. She does this by her relentless work ethic and dedication to the students at Baker Public Schools. Mrs. Brown always does the dirty jobs and never complains about it. She was a substitute teacher in our district for 13 years and will retire after 17 more years as our head custodian. Mrs. Brown will be dearly missed."

"Mrs. Brown leads by example," said Vergara. "She makes sure my high school is spotless and ready to go for every school day. Her pride for the Baker Spartans is contagious. She has impacted me for the simple fact that I don't want to let her down. When you have someone working as hard as she does, you want to try and match that effort and support her with everything you can."

"You couldn't find someone more deserving of this award," said Vergara.

Mardi is my mother first of all, but she is one of the hardest working, dedicated and supportive people you will ever meet. She loves her job, her co-workers and students. She takes her job seriously and is always available if needed. I seriously know that she thinks about work in her sleep! I know her staff are as good as they are because of how she leads by example. I know I am the person I am because of her. She does more behind the scenes than anyone realizes. Alot of unrecognized work, but she would never ask for the recognition. That's how she is, get the job done because that's what needs to be done. We are incredibly lucky to hand hey at Baker Public Schools.
