Jessica Zurek was nominated by a co-worker, Kristie Mahar-Ortiz.

"Jessica is a wife, mother of two, cake decorator, bee-keeper, 3-D printer magician (got a printer donated and helps all design items for our students), is deeply involved in her school community, and...oh yes, she is our school custodian," said Mahar-Ortiz. "Jessica is never seen without a smile. She jumps at the chance to help others in our building, whether they're staff or students. Jessica holds cupcake decorating classes after school hours so that our students can be introduced to a new hobby or even a possible career path! The students sample and decorate as they go! Jessica not only keeps our building clean, but she does all the setup and tear down for major school events, meetings, and/or gatherings...all without a single frown. Our students are loved and safe. Students go to her for a hug or high five because they have found great trust in her presence."
