Scott Niedopytalski was nominated by his assistant principal, Sandra Mordechyov.

"If I had to describe Scott in three words, they would be compassionate dedicated, and patient. What can I say about Scott? He plays a very interesting role in students' lives here at Sunset Park High School," said Mordechyov. "As a special education teacher, he walks a fine line between supporting students while still having them maintain their independence. Throughout the year, Scott makes sure to build positive, powerful connections with students. He then leverages these relationships throughout the year to ensure his students are successful in their classrooms. He is very dedicated to his work as a teacher. He puts in countless hours in the day to make sure he is fully planned and prepared for the next day. Life as a teacher is very stressful, and he really deserves something like this."
