Caryn Diamond was nominated by colleague, Colleen Coffey.
"Ms. Diamond is a teacher in Coney Island, Brooklyn," said Coffey. "She has taught every grade and every family in Coney Island. She makes learning so much fun. She is an old school teacher who teaches with love and creativity. I had the pleasure of working with her in Pre-k, and she published books for four-year-olds. She brings in the families and involves them in their children's learning. She dances and acts silly, even when she is going through personal stuff. Once those kids are in front of her, the best of her comes out. She has reached out to many families to let them know they have a voice and invited them into her class. She is never bothered by the small stuff."

It is exciting to see Ms. Diamond being nominated for this award. I have had the pleasure of working in Ms. Diamond's class last year and the love she has for her students shows up every day. It isn't just about getting through a lesson but making sure each child feels loved. She is kind and caring to all of her students and really playful (which the little ones need). The students are always laughing and being silly along with her. Kudos. Ms. Diamond for making kids feel special.
Ms. Diamon truly deserves this award. She always went above and beyond for her students including myself and my older brother. She always aims to inspire and laid the foundation for my education journey, so far concluding with a bachelor's degree in film. I can truly say that Ms. Diamond is like family
Caryn Diamond is one of the most AMAZING people I know! She is not only a loving & dedicated teacher/co worker, she is such a caring & loyal friend. 3 of my children were lucky enough to have her as their teacher & to this day, they all say how she is the BEST TEACHER EVER!! Diamond deserves this & so much more! The Sasto’s love you!!!
Ms. Diamond was my Kindergarden teacher almost 30 years ago. I still remember her kindness and love. She deserves this nomination and so much more!
We had the opportunity to meet Ms Diamond last year she was my son kindergarten teacher and we love her right away , she’s in incredible person who cares about others and will help you and your child to succeed , she understands what the kids need and always is I touch with the parents , my son always said that she’s the best teacher ever and will never gonna forget her .

My twins boys and I had the pleasure of Ms Diamond being their teacher, When we met for the first time there was an instant connection. My boys went from crying they eyes out on the first day of school because they was scared of how they teacher would be...to crying they little hearts out on the last day of school because they didn't want to leave Ms Diamond.
Caryn Diamond is the perfect nomination because she goes above and beyond what the average teacher would do.
She always texted her parents to keep us updated on what our children did for the day...ate for the day...what they learned...how they progress is going etc.
Oh i cant forget picture mail... Ms. Diamond always sent a picture of our scholars in class or at the playground learning and having fun with one another.
Thank you for all the love, care, and dedication that you put into teaching my child Prince Torres. My family and I are beyond grateful for your guidance and support. When he was having problems you never gave up, we came up with a Plan to help him. You are the best teacher—your hard work and dedication have not gone unnoticed. Words cannot capture my appreciation for all you have done… We love you beyond measures!
Ms. Diamond is one of the best teachers !! She’s really passionate about teaching , she treats every child as if they’re her own and works along side with parents .
Where do I start Ms. Diamond is an amazing person as well as a teacher. She goes above and beyond for her students. I am truly humbled to have someone like Ms. Diamond as my mother. She conducts herself with such grace and poise and anyone who gets the honor to learn from her is a truly lucky person. I have watched my mom stay up late at night to plan lessons or converse with her colleagues about activities to do in the classroom. She has put together holiday performances because she cares about the experience that her students are having. There is truly no one who deserves this award more than my mother. She is the epitome of kindness and compassion, and the woman that I strive to be one day.

They say a compassionate educator can change a child's life. Ms.Diamond has been that teacher for me. Years have passed and I am now a college graduate but I can never forget the amount of motivation and empathy Ms. Diamond had shared with me as well as my classmates for the two years we were blessed to have her. She had not only looked after her students but extended her compassion towards our families as well. Regardless of religion, race or gender she welcomed students and their families into her classroom with open arms. Constantly advocated for us to have fun ways to learn. I'll never forget Ms. Diamond and how dedication she put into teaching us.
Ms. Diamond is a resource and a blessing to the PS 188 Community and all of Coney Island. She makes everyone she comes in contact with smile, and shares her love and knowledge growing young minds. Ms. Diamond changes lives every day.
Miss Diamond has been a staple in Coney Island for three decades. She has been part of the community since the beginning of her career. Caryn, experience, and reputation can speak for itself. I had Ms. Diamond around 21 years ago to be exact. I can still remember how the class was setup and how she made every kid in her class feel included and welcomed. Ms Diamond (who in my mind and heart will always be Ms. P) was my kindergarten teacher, and truthfully speaking has and always been my favorite teacher throughout my academic years. Every year I spent in 188 we’d cross paths, she would always say hello and show love. Even after graduating we kept in contact throughout the years and I truly appreciate that. I believe Ms. Diamond should receive this LifeChanger award because she has had a meaningful impact to all the children she has taught, myself included. Ms. Diamond, you’re an inspiration to many future educators!

It is my pleasure to recommend my colleague Caryn Diamond for the LifeChanger award at P.S 188. This will be Caryn’s 22nd year of teaching at P.S. 188 and I have known her for ten of those years. Where do I start she is passionate about teaching, ready to learn any new task that comes her way, and treats each child as if her own. She gives her 100% to make sure she is teaching her students and takes all her time and dedication to create a positive learning environment. I was fortunate to work alongside her during Covid when we were remote. She went out of her way to make the children feel like they were in her classroom! The love and education for her students was her first priority during this difficult time. Caryn also works hard to build a community amongst the staff and families she is our go to person when we need an event to be organized! She is kind loving and fun, which makes her very popular in our P.S. 188 community. Thank you for this opportunity to tell you about my great friend, colleague, and wonderful teacher she is!
