Laura Farnham was nominated by Deborah Clarke, a member of the community.
To know Mrs. Farnham is to know a phenomenal teacher and a wonderful person.
"I personally was in the educational system for almost forty years, and I have never witnessed a more knowledgeable or more compassionate person!" Clarke said.
Mrs. Farnham has many students with special needs, and she's able to help them to quickly advance and grow academically. Her students adore her, and parents request her for their child’s teacher.
"Mrs. Farnham’s character is impeccable! Her sense of integrity is unlike any other. She has many colleagues on staff that value her as a friend. She will assist any teacher, no matter what the task," Clarke said.
Mrs. Farnham is very involved with after school activities. She is in charge of the Safety Patrol with all its duties. In addition, she is the Classroom Teachers Association liaison between teachers and administration. She is part of the school’s leadership team, Employee Building Council and is Chair of Student Detention. She is a strong believer in teaching the whole child. Mrs. Farnham is willing to help any child with academics or social/emotional issues, even if they are not her classroom students.
"I can tell Mrs. Farnham loves her job. That love is contagious! She is a remarkable individual who most people don’t get to know because she’s one in a million," Clarke said. "She continues to be a phenomenal instructor to her students teaching both in person and virtual students simultaneously. Additionally, Laura tutors students after school."
My son had her as his 1st grade. She is absolutely hands down an amazing, caring and loving teacher.
My son had Mrs. Farnham for 1st grade awhile ago (he is now a sophomore in high school) but I remember she always was and continues to be a very helpful, compassionate, understanding, dedicated and thoughtful teacher and person! I used to help out in her classroom and witnessed her being very endearing with her students. She always made time for each and every one of them. I never ever witnessed her mad or angry at a student, just very patient and understanding with them. I remember when my son went to SeaWorld with his class and I wasn't able to attend~ this would be his first big trip without me and I was a little nervous. I heard Mrs. Farnham would be going, so I knew he was in great hands! I remember her sending photos of the kids of their trip to some of us moms and it meant a lot to me~ it was so very thoughtful of her. The kids in our community are very blessed if they have Mrs. Farnham as their teacher! She is extremely deserving of this award!
She is absolutely amazing!
Mrs. Farnham had my oldest son in 1st and 2nd grade and we absolutely love her. She is an amazing teacher and we were so lucky to have her for 2 years in row. She truly loves what she does and is an outstanding teacher. I have a daughter in kindergarten and son that will start kindergarten next year, I only hope they are lucky enough to have her as a teacher.
I have known Ms. Farnham for 15 years of my life. I have known her for so long because she is my mom. A while back, my mom went to the doctor and found out that she had a severe case of skin cancer. She had to go in for many appointments and had many surgeries done in order for all of the cancer to be removed. After it was all over, my mom ended up having over 50 stitches in her face. After a week of recovery, she was right back to work and helping her kids learn even though she had bandages on. Ever since I was little, my mom and dad have taught me to always persevere. They also told me that I can do whatever I want as long as I put my mind to it. My mom and my dad are the real reasons why I am such a respectable man and why I have such good grades. They are also the reasons why I try so hard in football because I know that they are watching me and love me so much. My mom almost never misses school. The only time that she takes off of work is when me or my brother are sick. Other than that she is always at school during the week with her students. My mom comes home everyday after bringing my brother and I to sports and going to a workout. Somehow she still finds time to go over her students work. Every time I have taken a look at her papers, I have always seen written notes to her students on how they can improve along with smiley faces on ALL papers. Every night she is either making crafts for her students so that they can do a fun activity that will help them remember the information. In my high school, there are so many seniors that I know who talk very highly of my mom. They have told me things that they have done, things that made them laugh, and specific things that she did that helped them learn the information. Even when I am at Seminole Ridge watching football games, kids come up to her and say hi because they remember her. Without my mom I do not know what I would do. She is what motivates me to keep pushing through and working hard to succeed in life. My mom will always be my mom know matter what. I love you to the moon and back, infinity and beyond mom.
I know Mrs. Farnham because she is my mom. You would think I'm just writing this because she is my mom and I love her, but I'm not. I can't remember a time that my mom wasn't there for me through thick and thin. She drives me everywhere, from sports to appointments, but if she is not taking me somewhere than it's my brother. Somehow she still finds time for her students. Parents of present and former students always come up to my family and tell us what an amazing job my mom has done and how she impacted their child in such a big way. My mom stays up late mostly every night to make something creative so the kids can remember it. I can't remember the last time she hasn't stayed up late then fallen asleep on our couch. When my mom walks into her class full of students they are excited to learn and succeed. My mom has had kids who want nothing to do with learning and by the end of the year that child has done a full 360 degree spin. She has made an impact on her students and on me and my brother. Even though I say this every night before bed and every morning before school, I love you mom.
I know Mrs. Farnham from being Abigail's teacher at PH. The thing I remember about her is the joy she had in fulfilling her position. She looked at my child as an individual entrusted to her care, and treasured her the way a mom would. Even now years later if we bump into Mrs. Farnham at other community events, she still asks about my child by name, and it informs me that this is one of those individuals who loved what she did, and it shows.
Mrs. Farnham is an absolute amazing teacher and so much more. I have the pleasure of working with her on a daily basis and seeing her in action. She is positive, dedicated, nuturing and goes above and beyond in everything that she does. She teaches these children in a way that gets them excited about learning, she reaches out to each and every student in the classroom until they fully understand what is being taught. Her delivery is impeccable and makes these children wanting to come back for more. She is that teacher that you will never forget, that “favorite teacher” that you loved so much as a child. I can see that she is making a difference and helping build that solid foundation which will help these children in the years of learning that lie ahead. LifeChanger she is and deserves this for so many reasons.
My name is Paul Schmidt and I am Laura Farnham's Step-Father. Even though I never refer to her as a stepchild, she is my daughter who just happened to be born before I met her!
I served in the U.S Navy and retired after 26 years of service. During that time, I had the opportunity to work for and/or supervise many people with different work ethics. I have come to recognize folks that showed their hard work, diligence, along with a set of values centered on the importance to get the job done. This describes my daughter Laura to a tee - like the quote "if you want something done give it to the busy person to do it”! She never stops thinking of how she can make things better for everyone. From school to community, she is ready to step up to the plate and hit a home run with whatever she can give or do. As the chair of the Safety Patrol Program at her school, she organized a Hurricane Michael Relief to collect donations with her 5th grade Safety Patrols for the responders heading to the panhandle. Since Laura 's childhood she has been surrounded by military activities with both her parents having served and worked for the Department of Defense, so it is only natural that she would think and want to help our military. She has also arranged ‘Treats for the Troops’, sending candy and cards (Operation Gratitude) to the troops overseas, making wreaths for the VA hospital and organizing a Veteran's Day Celebration inviting both active and retired military to share their experiences with the students at her school.
But, first and foremost in Laura's heart and soul is her family. Like most Moms, there is nothing she would not do for them. In addition to her husband, two teenage sons, three dogs, one cat and one goldfish, she tirelessly manages both home, work and family. Laura provides support and taxi service for all her sons' after school activities at two different schools and never misses attending all their sporting and after school activities. Somehow, she does take some time for herself with a fairly regular workout routine, I do not know when she has time to sleep. She tires me out just listening to her daily activities.
I know I sound prejudice, but Laura is a very special, dedicated individual and, in my opinion, very deserving of this award.
We met Laura Farnham and her family while playing sports in our community. She would show up at ball practice with a bag full of books and papers that needed attention or a project idea for her student's that needed a little tweaking. It wasn't long before we developed a wonderful friendship. When our son was having trouble with reading and writing, Laura offered to help him. Despite working long hours helping the kids at her school she came to our home after work and helped my son. Thanks to her suggestions and extraordinary efforts we were able to get the right books and tools to help our son. I can't even begin to thank her enough for what she did for us and family. I know she has a great and does truly enjoy being a teacher and helping kids to learn.
My grandson, Gavin Secondino had Mrs. Farnham as his teacher during a very difficult time for him. Little did we realize she would be the one to recognize the special attention my Grandson needed. As a result of her love, care and taking time with Gavin, he is now academically where he should be with his class, he loves school and is excelling in all subjects. Mrs. Farnham is truly one of those teachers that make a difference!
Thank you so much for making a difference in my Grandsons future endeavors!!!
Mrs. Farnham was a school changer for my son on day 1. She saw that my son had a slight learning issue and addressed it immediately. Because of her my son has made amazing strides and he even enjoys going to school.
Laura did something amazing for my son. My son was transferred to her school with only 3 months left, we had been battling his previous teacher with what we thought was a learning disability...she denies and wanted to push him through to the next level. The very first day of the school transfer, with Laura as his new teacher, I received a phone call from Laura explaining her concerns with my son.She saw it immediately and quickly got him into the appropriate courses. It's because of Laura that we were able to get him the help that he needed! Before Laura he used to come home from school crying, now he has confidence and loves to go to school! She made a huge impact in our home and I will never forget that!!
Her compassion for ALL the kids is endearing a d it shows. She truly deserves this award for all the care she has shown, the magic she has created, and the love she has shown.
I was in Ms. Farnham's kindergarten class at Silver Lakes Elementary School for the 2001-2002 school year (her first year teaching). The wonderful memories from her classroom and the love of learning she instilled in me persist today, even almost twenty years later. This says a lot about her character, teaching ability, and overall passion for her work and life. She made coming to school an adventure (with stuffed animal sleepovers, spelling games, catch-phrases that I still say to this day, and just her vibrant personality and smile). Ms. Farnham was truly an amazing and one-of-a-kind teacher from the start and I am so proud of the amazing things she has gone on to accomplish in her career, most importantly continuing to shape young minds and empower her students like she did with me. As I pursue a masters degree, I can trace back my lifelong passion to learning to Ms. Farnham's classroom and I can never thank her enough for the impact she made on my life.
Mrs. Farnham is a life changer. She is an exceptional teacher let alone person. She makes every student feel individually cared for and loved. She completely lights up any room she enters and brings such a positive, happy presence with her. There will always be smiles and laughter when she is around.
I am so thankful for my children to have such an amazing teacher, role model and presence in the school and in their life.
Mrs. Farnham is an exceptional teacher! She is hardworking and dedicated to her students and her school. She is changing lives every day!
If anyone deserves this award, it's Laura Farnham!!!
She was my daughter's teacher for 1st grade which I also was the class parent. Every time I went in to volunteer there was such a positive vibe in her classroom! Mrs. Farnham made each student feel special and brought out the best in them. My daughter loves Mrs. Farnham and I can say with confidence that my daughter, now in 8th grade is a great student because of Mrs. Farnham's influence!
It is always a pleasure to see this sweet, beautiful lady we know as Mrs. Farnham out in the community, always reaching out and being a blessing to those that know her! ??
Laura Farnham is the perfect candidate for lifechanger of the year award! She had my son in 1st grade he is now in 9th grade. Everytime we see her he doesnt hesitate to fo over and talk to her and all the other children that had her as a teacher do the same. She is always active in the community helping someone, everyone that knows her loves her. She truly makes a difference in ever childs life that is fortunate enough to be in her class.
We have nothing but praise to shout out for Laura Farnham who on many occasions was there with just the right addition to any situation to bring out the best. Good or not so good the issue she has the ability to direct the energy in just the right direction and create a winning situation for all involved. She has been a rock and a guiding light for Sean who keeps me informed of her every move.
She is a walking lesson in professionalism, respect and sincerity and a comfort to students and parents.
Without reserve or hesitation we would support, recommend and endorse Laura Farnham for your award!!!
Congratulations Ms Farnham, with all of our love and respect
Mrs.Farnham loves her job my daughter was always so excited about going to class and now she loves seeing her around school. She is very involved in her classroom and with different school activities. Mrs Farnham is also kind and patient she is awesome.
Laura Farnham is a dedicated teacher who thought my children at Pierce Hammock Elementary School in first grade.. My children were fortunate enough to have Laura as their first grade teachers. I have twin, a boy and a girl. They are different as night and day, in their physical appearance and their learning styles and personality.
My girl was not a reader and did not like school or being in school; while my boy is more a reader and enjoys school a little more.
Coming from private school was a difficult transition for my girl. She was miserable. she did not want to go to school at all. I was worried upset and thought I made a terrible mistake by taking the kids out of private school to public school.
Laura Farnham understood my dilemma and confusion. She called me and states Mrs Alexis "don't you worry, ill take care of your kids" . She sounded sincere, compassionate, trustworthy and concerned. She helped the kids to love learning and to love reading. She nurtured and cared for my children while helping them to love learning.
I took her at her words. My Children excelled in second grade. My girl loves to read now as a matter of fact she has a vivid imagination and will create stories . My boy is also a reader and still loves school. Their success today is part due to her investment in their future.
My children adore her and respect her. We see Mrs Farnham at football games at the local high school on a regular basis.. Her students and parents greet her with love, respect and gratitude and I am one of the parents.
She has made an impact in my life and the kids by showing me how a teacher can make or break a child. She loves her job and her students and it shows. My children were thought nothing is impossible if they put their mind to it. It would not be at all possible without Laura Farnham's dedication and passion for the profession and her job.
I will be forever grateful for the care and compassion, patience that Mrs Farnham has shown to me and my children. Thanks a million Mrs Farmham. You have been an excellent teacher, friend, mother and human being.
Again, I want to express my sincere gratitude for teaching my children and loving them.. You deserve to be recognized for all your hard work , dedication, compassion and the love of teaching.
Congrats Mrs. Farnham! I wasn't lucky enough to have either of my sons in her class yet, but they both know her and love her. She is a safety patrol leader for my oldest this year so we are getting to know her a bit more. She rocks!
When our family moved out to the acreage, our kids had to transfer about mid way through the school year. We were worried about the transition. We were so lucky to have our daughter placed in Mrs. Farnham’s class, she showed tremendous patience and was always so positive and encouraging. Our daughter always came home saying how great Mrs. Farnham was and how she was so nice. That was three years ago, my how time flies. Mrs. Farnham still has a lasting impression on my daughter and our family. Whenever we are at the school and we have the chance to say “hi” it’s as if our daughter is still in her class, Mrs Farnham has a genuine energy, an infectious smile and truly cares for everyone she meets not just her students. I am grateful for having had her as a teacher for my daughter. Pierce Hammock and the community are lucky to have Mrs. Farnham. God Bless.
My daughter was very fortunate to have Mrs. Farnham as her 1st and 2nd grade teacher. She makes learning fun for the students and provides excellent communication with the parents. She genuinely cares about her students and does her part to help them succeed.
Mrs. Farnham was a huge influence on Parker. He would always tell me how much fun he had in class. Parker actually looked forward to going to school to see what crazy thing Mrs Farnham would do. She made learning fun, alot of fun.
Mrs. Farnham dedication to her students and Pierce Hammock Elementary is unmeasurable. She works and see each student as an individual but pushes them as a group to achieve their objective. Mrs. Farnham goes above and beyond working late through the week preparing for the next the school day showing her dedication to her students and Pierce Hammock Elementary.
Mrs. Farnham rocks as a teacher and just an overall great person. From the work she has done with my children in school to overall work helping all the children - organizer of the school Safety Patrol trips- chaperone for these trips, she just goes all out. I am happy to hear that she was nominated for the LifeChanger of the Year award and I truly hope she wins.
Mrs .Farnham is a perfect candidate for Lifechanger of the Year. Her positive attitude and willingness to do whatever is asked of her are great character traits. I have known Mrs. Farnham for over 10 years, and she has an amazing work ethic. She is willing to do whatever needs to be done for her students, her school and her community. From supporting her son's football team to helping coworkers, and of course teaching and encouraging her students, she is a great asset to Pierce Hammock .

Her commitment to her responsibility of bringing light and confidence into the children she gets to spend each year with is truly impressive. I am honored to say congratulations to Laura for being nominated for the LifeChanger of the Year award.
Congratulations to Mrs. Farnham for being nominated for the LifeChanger of the Year! I am honored to say that Mrs. Franham was my younger son's teacher in elementary school, and played a huge role in changing and molding his young brain and life. However, Mrs. Farnham didn't stop helping him learn or offering amazing advice in the classroom. She also offered her guidance on the baseball field and any time my son had a question, because he felt he could trust her. Mrs. Farnham definitely deserves to be recognized as an outstanding educator for her hard work and dedication! I can't thank her enough for all that she has done!
I've known Mrs. Farnham for about ten years now, ever since I had her as my teacher in the First Grade. From what I remember , she is a great teacher. I see her around all the time and she always sees how I'm doing and offers me opportunities to get hours to help me in highschool. Shes always helping other people, even students from ten years ago.
Mrs.Farnham is one of the kindest teachers I have ever had. I had the honor of having her as my first grade teacher. I'm a sophomore in highschool now, and I still haven't lost touch with her. She always tries her best to help everyone, in the best way possible. Last time I saw her, she offered my sister and I volunteer hours at Pierce Hammock. I am very grateful for everything she has done for me, and happy that I had the pleasure of having her as my teacher.
I have known Laura for many years beginning with our kids playing baseball together. I was always impressed with the number of children and parents that would approach her at the baseball field’s showing pure love and appreciation for what she has done for the children and families of this community. She is definitely deserving of this award and is a great example and role model for teachers mothers and human beings in general.
We are happy to hear that Laura for him has been nominated for the Life Changer of the Year Award. We have no Laura for about 35 years and to know her is to love her. We miss seeing her smiling face and having some wonderful conversations. Laura has always been great with children and adults. We know if we were raising our children now, we would definitely feel honored and lucky to have Laura as their teacher. Good luck Laura and we love you alot. (MOM & DAD #2).
Mrs. Farnham is a extraordinarily
Compassionate wonderful teacher and friend. My grandson was in her class last year and what a amazing job she did with him. He started out with no confidence in himself unsure and not understanding . Then here she was took time with him reassuring him that he has this and closer to the end of the year he blossomed into this wonderful young boy. She had such an incredible, amazing, wonderful impact on his life that now he is reading like a pro. Has confidence in himself. Thank you so much!!
Mrs. Farnham is an amazing teacher and a true leader. Mrs. Farnham is involved in many school activities and always put forth 200%. To know Mrs. Farnham is to love her. She's amazing in every capacity.
I've had the pleasure of supervising Laura Farnham for over four years, and I must say that she is an essential piece to everything we do. She's a phenomenal teacher who seeks every opportunity to share her knowledge and expertise. She loves and respects all students--not just those in her classroom. She demonstrates professionalism and innovative instruction at the highest levels. I know Laura to be a lover of the field of education. She believes in learning for all students and expects all students to perform at their highest potential. Laura is a Life Changer here at Pierce Hammock Elementary School where she models effective teacher leadership in all aspects of the duty. We're truly blessed!
I have personally known Laura for over 10+ years now and have always admired her! She is an extremely hard worker! And she has the ability to make anyone feel like a part of her family. She is nuturing, kind, smart, and funny and extremely deserving of this award!
Mrs. Farnham is one of the best teachers I know. She puts the kids before herself and always makes sure that they’re all happy and safe. I wish to be half the teacher she is one day!!
I’ve know Laura my whole life and she has always been known to light up a room with her positive energy and happy spirit! She always goes above and beyond with anything she does and is always willing to lend a hand whenever needed. She is an amazing mother, teacher and role model and definitely someone you can always rely on. I am lucky to know her and only wish I was lucky enough to have her as a teacher growing up!
I am so happy to applaud Laura Farnham for her nomination as a Life Changer. As a former colleague, I witnessed her joy, enthusiasm, energy, and passion for teaching. Laura always finds a way to connect with her students which makes them eager to learn and grow academically and personally. She has a huge heart and always goes out of her way to get involved in extra activities that support her school, community and charity events. I have spent several "all nighters" with her at the "Relay For Life" 24-hour walk and she never stops shinning. The authentic and genuine care she shows makes a lasting mark on her students long after the year has ended.
Congrats Laura and keep making a difference wherever the road leads you.
My children have never had the honor of having Laura Farnham as a teacher but many of my friends have filled me in as to how amazing she is. I have no doubt that she is just as amazing in the classroom as she is as a person. She is kind, hardworking, strong, compassionate, fun, and not to mention beautiful inside and out. She is a loving mother, wife and friend. If anybody deserves this award....it is Mrs. Farnham!!!
Laura Lipinski is the most inspirational person I ever knew I met her as a freshman in high school I saw her at the hospital going through procedures and she told me we will be friends forever and her life of a teacher and her perseverance to pull through with the children she has done everything and also stayed my friend
Mrs. Farnaham was our daughters's 2nd grade teacher. She was an amazing teacher and gave my daughter the support she needed. She's a wonderful person and a wonderful teacher. We were blessed to have known her.
My daughter Kamryn is in Mrs. Farnham’s 2nd grade class this year. In the short amount of time that we’ve known Mrs Farnham we can tell what a sweet, loving, dedicated, hardworking teacher she is. What I love most as a parent is the open communication she keeps with us on an almost daily basis allowing us to always know what’s going on in the classroom.
I’ve also watched Kamryn become a more confident student over the last couple months, and she’s more eager to learn and excited to go to class. Kamryn says “she’s funny and really nice.”
We are so grateful to have her for our daughter’s teacher this year and we couldn’t have met a nicer, more deserving person for this award!
I've had the honor of watching Mrs. Farnham in action and she is truly an amazing teacher. She loves her students and really works extra hard to ensure their success.
Laura has been my best friend since the ninth grade. I have had the pleasure of growing up with her and watching her evolve into the amazing person that she is. She has raised two remarkable sons and is part of a tremendously supportive family. As a teacher, I know that Laura is as inspirational and dedicated as she has been as a friend for so many years. Her students are blessed to have such a tremendous force in their corner, teaching them and leading them to become great contributors in today’s society. She will forever change people’s lives and I am honored to be able to show my support of her nomination.
I have known Laura for 20 years, and without a doubt she loves being s teacher! Laura is a dedicated teacher to helping her students be the best they can be. She has a nurturing but enthusiastic way of teaching, to keep the students engaged. She is a born leader, organizer and always willing to help in any way she can. She is willing to go the extra mile to help students succeed even if they arent her students! She is great advocate for children with disabilities or special needs.
Hell yea i agree with what was written here about Laura. Integrity, yes , when I was picked on and bullied in highschool Laura was not only my friend to my face but behind my back. When she was with her friends despite rumors about me she still smiled waved and said hi. I grew up knowing Laura and I saw her a few years ago and can say she is still the sweetest ,kindest and happy woman that she was in highschool.... I hope the best for her and she should definitely be picked!!!
Laura is one of the best teachers in Palm Beach County. My son was fortunate enough to have her. She creates a bond with her kids like no other. He is now a freshman in high school and still talks about her. I think she was his favorite teacher in elementary school. She helps to instill honesty and integrity into our children at a very young age. I truly feel she is instrumental in helping her children succeed in life with the values she helps to instill in them in. I wish there were more like her to help every child. She is a very positive roll model.
Laura and I met years ago when our sons played baseball together. She has not taught my children but has been available to help me out when I have had questions and concerns regarding their education. I know that I can pick up the phone and call her to be that person to guide/educate me when I need it. Congratulations Laura. You have already hold this title in my book.
Mrs. Farnham is a wonderful teacher. She is dedicated and is loved by everyone who meets her.
My children and I have had the pleasure of knowing Mrs. Farnham for many years at Pierce Hammock Elementary. She is a wonderful teacher and is very involved with extra activities. My youngest son got the opportunity to travel with her to Washington DC with the Safety Patrols. Mrs. Farnham and her colleagues made the trip a memorable experience for Michael and his classmates. Mrs. Farnham always has a smile on her face and is welcoming. The children love to give her hugs!
Mrs. Farnham is an awesome teacher!
I have known Laura every since she was about 3 years old. Even then she always had a smile for everyone. A very easy going child who was very kind and caring of others. She has grown up to be a wonderful mother, friend and teacher. She will always go out of her way to insure she has done all she could to help out in any situation. I am honored to call her a friend!
Mrs. Farnham taught our son Ryan in elementary school. Upon meeting her you could feel her warmth, compassion and love for her job. She treated our son individually as if he was the only one in her class. Her communication with parents was outstanding and we always felt like part of the class. We see her often because she is involved in many community activities.
I am a former colleague of Laura’s, but I can assure you that the many years I have known her, and worked with her, are years of observing her confident, compassionate and enormously, open heart . There’s no doubt how devoted she is to her family and friends, her teaching job, her students, parents of students, co-workers and community. Anybody who walks into her classroom receives an instant cheerful smile and a positive welcoming vibe. As a colleague, she is an ideal team player focused and committed to student success, but she particularly shines in leadership roles. Most of these positions she seeks out voluntarily, with the genuine intent of helping and supporting others. She envisions ideas that are always in the best interest of everyone . During this current school year, she continues to hold several leadership positions at Pierce Hammock Elem….such as chair of the School Leadership Team, a teacher leader for the Technology Trailblazer program in Palm Beach County, an advisor/co-sponsor for the Safety Patrols, and Pierce Hammock’s Classroom Teacher Association(CTA) Representative, just to name a few. As the school’s CTA Representative, I cannot emphasize enough what a wonderful mentor she is. She is easily approachable, nonjudgmental, and is ready to listen, give assistance, or help resolve problems from anyone in any situation. Laura comes with the gift of an unlimited amount of effort and energy to motivate and help others flourish. The word “Lifechanger” is a description that fits her perfectly.
There are special people who come into our lives and make us a better person...Laura is one of those people for me. We have been friends since Middle School and even back then she has always been someone to look up to and lead by example. I'm honored to call her my friend and her hard work as a teacher is reflected in all her students (past & present).
Mrs. Farnham is a brilliant ray of sunshine! Her smile can turn any frown upside down! The love and passion she has for not only her students but for life as well is an amazing example that I wish everyone could see. I am so grateful to have spent time volunteering for such a genuine and talented person! The memories she has given my son and I will be cherished forever and I cannot do anything but to hope my little one will be one of her students one day! Thank you for being the amazing person you are Mrs. Farnham!!! We love you!!!
I’ve known Mrs.Farnham for over 8 years and counting:)before meeting her I never thought that a person couod be a Teacher, Support, Funny, caring, loving,Mentor all in one.
when my oldest daughter Zenia had Mrs.Farnham as her 2nd grade teacher she had so much to share with me after school she loved and enjoyed her home works, she enjoyed going to the school only because she loved her teacher and for a child it’s very important to enjoy school and for that the biggest role plays the Teachers. As a parent We were blessed having Mrs. Farnham as her teacher. Working with her for a year I couldn’t wait to have her for my kindergartener so was he excited tobe in Mrs.Farnham class and we were lucky enough to get her for the 2nd time and it was another great year and I was hoping to have her for my 3rd one but unfortunately we didn’t get Mrs.Farnham as her teacher but, she is always there to help my daughter in every way possible. I still have a fourth one and would LOVE to have Mrs.Farnham once agin as his teacher.my all 4 kids loves her.
I feel so blessed having a Teacher like Mrs.Farnham for my Chidren.I am witness on how dedicated she is in teaching her students.Thank you and may you keep the good work!
I have known Laura for the past couple of years. She has been my "neighbor" at school since coming to Pierce Hammock. Laura does not only make her students feel part of her classroom but also embraces the entire family. She takes time to attend to the needs of the students' educational and emotional well being. Laura will find ways to reach every one of her learners and spends her time at school and home doing just that. As her neighbor she will seek me out often just to talk and problem solve together as we work towards making sure every child reaches their full potential. As part of the second grade team, she is a great team player and regularly meets with her colleagues to work smarter not harder. This nomination is well deserved.
I have known Laura for over 30 years. She has always been a caring and compassionate person from childhood through adulthood. I am lucky and honored to call Laura my friend and her students are lucky to have her as a leader.
I have known Laura for over 30 years and she carries herself with a level of integrity that is noticeable. Always trying her best to do the right thing for everyone. She is also very caring and eager to assist others. I’m addition to these great qualities, she also chases her dreams and sets goals that some people would never try. Laura is an amazing leader and I’m proud to have her in my life!!
Mrs. Farnham is a dedicated and hardworking teacher. She is involved in numerous activities at school and she is SUPER helpful if you need her help. She will use her own time to sit with you and help you when needed.
I worked with Ms Farnham when one of my ESE students was in her class. She too the time and care needed to help my student succeed in second grade. He is now a senior in high school! I still enjoy seeing her at Pierce Hammock over the year, always a smile for everyone.
My daughter currently has Ms. Farnham as her safety patrol sponsor and she absolutely loves Ms. Farnham. Ms. Farnham’s enthusiasm for these students shows as she greets each safety patrol at the front door every morning starting at 7:00am. We are so blessed to have this opportunity to know her. Ms. Farnham, we appreciate your commitment and dedication to our daughter and to all the students’ lives you touch!!!!
I've had the pleasure of working with Mrs. Farnham for about ten years. During that period of time, I have had various opportunities to witness her strong leadership abilities as a CTA President, part of the Fitness Club as well as being in charge of Safety Patrols. She is the kind of teacher that loves her job and is willing to accept responsibilities far beyond what is expected of a classroom teacher.
Collaborating with Mrs. Farnham for the short time I’ve been at Pierce Hammock Elementary School has truly been a pleasure. The passion and dedication Mrs. Farnham has for her students is unparalleled. I’ve seen Mrs. Farnham stay after school hours to meet with parents/guardians, come to school early to ensure students have what they need to successful, and bend over backwards to make sure her students feel cared for and safe at school. Mrs. Farnham uses compassion and positivity to encourage her students to become the best people they can be. I’ve had firsthand experience watching what her patience and compassion can do for a struggling student who faced many adversities in his young life. The young boy does not have the behavioral issues he once had upon entering Mrs. Farnham’s classroom one year ago, and has a bright future ahead of him. As a school counselor, it warms my heart to know that my students have a caring teacher on their side, cheering them on academically and emotionally.
Mrs Farnham, has a great responsibility to help shape the future of our son and daughter. We recently moved to FL from the mid west and she has taken our second graders under her wings and made them and us feel so comfortable and secure. We appreciate her!!!!
Mrs Farnham is very kind, patient and loving to her students. She has the special touch every parent looks for in a teacher. We appreciate her very much!!!!
I have known Laura Farnham for many years. All the years that I have known her, I have seen that all of her students adore her. She is a hard worker and a caring teacher. She puts in numerous after school hours, preparing for her students and classroom. She is very organized and is the sponsor for the safety patrols. She organizes many fundraisers to help the students with the cost of the the Washington, DC trip which she also organizes. Laura puts pride into everything she does and is a team player. Laura is deserving of this award.
I worked many years with Laura as a teacher. She has a true passion for teaching and is extremely dedicated to her students and their achievement. She always takes on roles above and beyond her job responsibilities as a teacher.
Mrs Farnham teaches at my son's school, Pierce Hammock Elementary. Her personality is charismatic, she always has a smile on her face and is 100% ready and willing to assist anyone. She is a wonderful teacher to her students and deserves this award!!
I first met Laura Farnham 15+ years ago while working in the hotel and hospitality industry. During this time she was continuing her education to become a teacher. She was then, and still is, concerned about the people around her; asking what she could do to help in any situation. During our time together, while working at the hotel in Ft. Lauderdale, she helped me with implementing and organizing a volunteer program through Angels on Earth (a 501.3c organization that my mother had created to help survivors of domestic violence). She helped me spearhead the collecting, sorting and distribution of gifts, food and Christmas trees. We would receive wish lists and ask for volunteers to buy the gifts that were wished for. We drove all around Ft. Lauderdale, delivering these things, giving families something to look forward to during the holiday season, and give them some normalcy in their time of need.
Although, our career paths have gone in separate directions, we have remained friends. She is always helping and diving into something new for the good of everyone. She is definitely a great friend, teacher and role model.
I love Mrs.Farnom as my second grade teacher she taught me a lot of life lessons book wise and street wise as a young student
An educator, a nurturer, a believer, a supporter, a way maker. These are only a few adjectives to describe Mrs. Farnham. She has a love for children, for teaching and making an impact in the lives of others. Mrs. Farnham continues to motivate, cultivate and encourage youth. I am proud to have worked tirelessly with her on her educational journey.
Rendolyn Amaker, Principal
North Fork Elementary
Mrs Farnham always has a smile on her face. My son absolutely loves her and we are so blessed to have her head of the safety patrols.
Laura Farnham is an amazing teacher and I am fortunate that my daughter is in her class this year. We have heard nothing but great things about her from everyone we have spoken to. She is always communicating with us parents and welcomes any questions to be emailed any time. You can tell from spending only a few minutes with Mrs. Farnham that she really loves her job and truly cares about the success of each student. She definitely deserves this award.
A tireless teacher with a true unwavering dedication to education. A privilege for any student lucky enough to and in her class!
We are blessed to have Mrs Farnham at our children's school. She's an amazing teacher who goes above and beyond to care for our children and keep us parents continuously updated. My daughter Lilian had so much fun in Fitness Club that's been organized and run by Mrs Farnham after school, and she's very excited to be a Safety Patrol this year and have Mrs Farnham as her Safety Patrol Advisor. Laura Farnham is truly a life changer and definitely deserves this award!!
I am very happy that Laura has been nominated for this award, because she deserves to be recognized for what she does here at Piece Hammock! I`ve know her for about 10 years. She is loved by her students, she is a very nurturing, patient, funny, and a positive teacher! Laura is a flexible easy going person, a true team player! I hope Laura wins this award as she is an outstanding teacher!
I have been lucky enough to know Laura Farnham as a friend, co-worker and a teacher to my son. I have worked with her for more than 10 years and am thankful each day for her. She is a wonderful person, a great teacher and is always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone that needs it. She goes over and beyond in her professional career and as a friend. This is well-deserved!
We were blessed for my daughter to have Ms. Farnham for two years in a row as she looked up with her class. We had just moved to the area and she was this bright shining light of joy for my daughter. My child blossomed under her leadership and care. She loved going to school everyday because of her and adjusted to her new school without a hitch. To this day she still seeks out Ms. Farnham! When we had difficulty with my older son, she was one of the few that reached out to help. She is an amazing person!! I can’t think of a more deserving person for this award.
Mrs. Farnham is a wonderful teacher, I was fortunate enough to have my son with her for 2 wonderful years. She help him every step of the way, she would motivate him to do better even when he thought he couldn’t do it. she was always there to give him that extra push. She was always communicating with me about his progress and new goals and every times he did good she got as exited as I did. All I can say is thank you very much for all you did for Alex, he loves you very much and I I’m very thankful for all you did for him. Thank you!#LCOY
I was blessed to have this amazing beautiful and caring teacher for my kids. She continued to go above and beyond even outside of educating children. She is a perfect example of how our teachers and administrators should be!!! She is an excellent asset to teaching or to a friendship and someone in your life.
Laura Farnham was my sons teacher many years ago, by far his best ever! When we found out that year that Mrs Farnham was to be his teacher a lot of people told us she was amazing...well they weren’t lying! My son would wake up in the morning happy as a lark because he was going to school and Mrs Farnham was gonna be his teacher that day (and mind you that was every day)!
Mrs Farnham had a way with her students-she took the time to get to know each and everyone of her students that were in her class, taking the time to know each as an individuals, yet maintain a class full of children ready to learn. If they weren’t understanding something she found a way for it to click for them. While my son had many good teachers I have to say none that left an impression like she did! Even to this day we run into her and he gives her a big hug and lets her know how much he loves her and misses her! That...that is an impact on a students life that as a parent Is everlasting!!! I can’t think of a better person than Mrs Farnham to be awarded “Life Changer of the Year”
I'm not surprised that Laura was nominated for the LifeChanger award. I have worked in Laura's room for the past few years on and off. I'm always amazed how well she works with her students. Your work ethic speaks for itself. I'm always impressed by the results you produce with your students from the first day of school to the last day. The pride you take in your work is truly inspiring. I couldn't think of a better person for this award.
One of the most positive people I know is Laura Farnham! She exudes energy, passion and creativity with everything she does - from exercising to teaching. I have had the pleasure of co-teaching with Laura for a few years when she "chose" to have an ESE inclusion class. The special needs students flourished in her encouraging classroom She ensured that all students were not only afforded the accommodations and modifications they needed, but also ensured that they were done in a manner that was as inconspicuous as possible - caring about the "whole" child's well-being, including their emotional as well as academic needs. I whole-heartedly support Laura Farnham for The Life Changer of the Year Award!
I have been fortunate enough to have Mrs Farnham teach one of my children. My kids have had many good teachers throughout the years but I must say Mrs Farnham stands out among the top. I work for our local Fire Department for the past 16 years and I know a true leader when I see one. All of my children and their friends speak about her with such excitement. I have never witnessed Mrs Farnham not hustling around school without a smile on her face. It's honor to have her teach our children and be a part of the community. Her work ethic is infectious and she remains humble after years of much praise. I couldn't think of a better recipient of such a prestigious award.
Mrs. Farnham is one of those teachers you wish your kids could have all through their school years. She shows that she is truly there for the children she teaches in everything she does. I am grateful my son had the opportunity of having her as his 1st grade teacher at Western Pines Middle School.... Laura is an all around great person !!!!!
Laura Farnham is one of the best teachers I have worked with. She is devoted to the students that she teaches and always has been. As a teacher she goes above and beyond for her students. It was a pleasure to know her not only professionally but also personally.
Laura Farnham volunteered with me when I was the president of Acreage Athletic Baseball league. Laura was well organized and great with the parents. She was a tremendous help while she was there.
Mrs. Farnham is an amazing teacher. In 2012 my daughter suffered a traumatic brain injury that resulted in her being on life support and in a coma for a week. Miracously she survived but missed a ton of school due to outpatient physical therapy 3 hours a day for 2 months. Mrs Farnham was her hospital home bound teacher and helped my daughter get back on track and even helped her achieve honor roll! Not only did she help Eva, but she was also my twins and my nephews 2nd grade teacher! She went on the safety patrol trip with all three of my girls, and she kept me in the loop while they were in Washington. Mrs. Farnham is one of the most compassionate, kind and humble person I have ever known. We love you Mrs. Farnham !!!!
Ms. Farnham
Is a wonderful person any on who has had the opportunity to meet her has been privileged, she is so sweet, kind and I’ve also been able too she her help and send all her good cheers along to all students she comes in contact with, she’s truly a winner for this Lifechanger Award. Don’t pass the woman by you will be sorry, she’s GREAT!
Mrs. Farnham is a very versitile individual, she was able to re-adjust during my son's first year of elementary education. As a teacher, she taught my son in kindergarten after he had to change teachers three times during the first eight weeks of school. This was very challenging, but Mrs Farham was able to motivated my son who is now, an honor student earning 5s on the FSA. and reading way above his grade level. She is the best candiate for this life changing experience award because of her inflences on my son, her ability to adjust and teach children in various grade level, and using the fitness club to motivate parents and children to stay healthy.
My son Camron had Ms. Farnham as a teacher at Pierce Hammock. She was nothing short of fantastic! She is friendly and has a way of making the kids feel welcome in the classroom. She is a natural teacher. She taught in a way that made school fun for my child and for all of the children. Definitely one of my favorite teachers!
I’ve had the pleasure of being friends with Laura Farngam for 13 Years now. Since the beginning of our friendship she has been a teacher and has always put 159% into learning and improving her teaching methods for the better of her students. Mrs Farnham always brings work home and makes herself available to the parents as well. We all have that one teacher that we never forget and I do believe she probably falls into that catergory for many of her students. I know she is a wonderful and caring wife, mother, daughter and sister and I’m so very lucky to call her my friend!
Its no surprise at all that Laura was Nominated for the LifeChanger Award. As a colleague I can assure you that she changes the lives of her students and those around her each and everyday! She is such a positive force to be around! Her invectious smile and energetic vibe is contagous! The care and compassion that she puts into her work for her students to become sucessfull is beyond remarkable. Those who ever have had the opportunity to work alongside Laura can feel her compassion emanate in everything she takes on! I am grateful to have the opportunity to support Laura for this Amazing award that she truly deserves!
My son Parker had the pleasure of having Mrs. Farnham for 1st & 2nd grade. We begged her to loop again to 3rd. He absolutely loved her! She has a heart of gold for her students. He was well prepared for 3rd & now 4th grade. She makes learning fun!
Mrs. Farnham was my son's 1st grade tacher. Sir Jamenn had a very hard time concentrating and understanding his assignments. At the tender age of 5, Sir Jamenn's father suffered from heart disease, causing my little boy to take on adult stress for years.
Mrs. Farnham took Sir Jamenn under her wing and gave him the individual help he needed to learn, along with different resources just to get him through his day. She made him believe in himself and that he can do anything he puts his mind to. I remember her saying to him "you are just as smart as anyone else"
I still tear up as I echo those words in my head, because my little boy was really having a difficult time with learning.
Today Sir Jamenn is in the 7th grade attending
William Dandy Middle in the
Pre-Law Program. My son is an Honor Roll student and has achieved all
Advanced Academic classes.
Mrs Farnham believed in my little boy. Because of her early solid foundation of YOU CAN DO IT NO MATTER WHAT YOU ARE FACING!
Sir Jamenn A.Johnson is the results of,
Mrs. Farnham investing love, care, and time in her students. I proudly give my nomination to her for
"Life Changer of the year"
I have had the pleasure of working with Laura for the past 10 years at PHES. I assisted Laura as a support teacher in her classroom to assist struggling students and have served on numerous committees with Laura. She has so many great qualities that would fill pages in a book. However, Laura's greatest asset as a teacher is her uncanny ability to find the unique qualities in a child and nurture those qualities which results in a child reaching his/her greatest potential, academically, behaviorally and emotionally. Regardless of the issues a child brings into her classroom, Laura responds with a loving, caring and respectful approach. Every day is a fresh start for a struggling child in her classroom. Everyday she strives to meet that child's needs and everyday she smiles, encourages and celebrates each tiny step that child achieves. It is truly amazing to watch the growth of a child in her classroom. Laura is a remarkable person, a remarkable teacher, a remarkable mother and a remarkable friend. Laura is beyond a doubt a true "LifeChanger."
Laura Farnham is a wonderful teacher and leader. She always has a smile on her face and is more than willing to help out in any way possible. I am always so impressed by how she handles all of her responsibilities and never seems overwhelmed. The school, the parents, and the kids are so lucky to have her!
I have known Laura Farnham for 2 years now. Laura is a highly effective teacher and has been for the two years that I have served as Principal of Pierce Hammock Elementary. She is the building representative for the Classroom Teachers Association. Very well respected by all of her colleagues, students and parents in our community. She is an amazing leader, always carries a big smile on her face and her students absolutely love her. Laura also serves as the safety patrol chair for our 5th graders along side Amy Ramsdell. I highly recommend Laura for this prestigious award and she is so deserving. Good luck Laura...
We had just moved to Florida in the middle of the school year. Our daughter was assigned to Mrs Farnhams second grade class. I can't tell you enough about Mrs Farnham helping our daughter with this transition. She truly made our daughter very comfortable in her new school. We are so happy and lucky that our daughter has had the privilege of being taught by Mrs Farnham.
Mrs. Farnham is so special to us. When my son Wyatt started kindergarten at PHES she was the teacher in the class next to his home room. My son would see her every morning at her door while she would wait on her students to come in, and every morning he would give her a good morning hug, he is now in 5th grade and those hugs are still a part of their day and even when we see each other outside of school the hug is a must! She is an amazing teacher who's passion for teaching shows. She deserves all the awards in the world!
Mrs. Farnham is an amazing educator and colleague! Each and every day that I see Mrs. Farnham at school she always has a smile on her face and is excited about her job! She is a compassionate teacher that values each and every student. Her students love her and are excited about learning!
Laura is a person who believes in education. She also has done a tremendous job in making sure to address issues that would put her school in an unfavorable light. She has provided support not only to her teachers at the school but works closely with the administration to make sure that her school is a cooperative supportive environment for the students and staff. She has taken the time to learn and implement what she has learned however she also will reach out for advice and guidance when she is not sure of something. I am glad that I get to work with someone who is so dedicated to this profession.
Mrs. Laura Farnham came to work with a tremendous love for teaching! During the past ten years, she has consistently demonstrated her conscientiousness and genuine commitment to the education of our students. We have been continually impressed with her driving commitment to excellence. Over the years, her students had reading gains due to her outstanding organizational skills, establishing a positive environment conducive for ALL children, and providing dynamic and enthusiastic lessons every day. Mrs. Farnham is uncompromising in her quest for quality educational opportunities for all students. She never loses sight of students and their needs. I consider Mrs. Laura Farnham an outstanding and dedicated teacher. I am sure she will continue with the same commitment and dedication as a “Lifechanger of the Year” nominee!
I have had the pleasure of working at Pierce Hammock Elementary with Laura Farnham for the past 10 years. Laura is very active in the school and the community. She gives 100% to everything she does and has a true passion for learning. Laura is always willing to give up her time to help others, and this compassion shows in her relationships with her students.
How could I describe my loving, sweet, beautiful daughter Laura, in a few words - first off, she is my baby daughter. Like most babies they require the most attention. In our case Laura was such a good and happy baby, she was usually quite content to play in her playpen. As she grew she dearly loved and idolized her older sister often mimicking most everything she did. Even though she was younger her love for her sister was evident even down to carrying her home after a bad fall. As she grew Laura was the kind of person that enjoyed life and tried to see the fun side of things. She was always happy, laughing and giggling and her antics left us shaking our heads - you never knew what she would do next. As it was then and now she was one of those people that brightens up a room they walk into. But then her sympathetic, caring side would come out even while watching her favorite show Little House on the Prairie, when the tears would flow - she would say she was not crying but her eyes were just watering. A few years after high school Laura decided she wanted to start a new life in Florida - so no stopping her, although we tried, off she went. She got a job, worked full time and attended night school - with no family living close to lean on - she accomplished what she set out to do basically on her own, even being selected for National Honor Society. Following again in her sister's footsteps she decided to pursue teaching. I can certainly vouch for her dedication to her profession, even when she is visiting us or off for the weekend, she always has some lesson plans or other classwork related activities with her students in mind. Even while shopping I find her looking at items she could use in her classroom, and usually using her own money. Laura is a very dedicated person balancing her job/students/friends and family. As her Mom I am in awe of her parenting style, her family is first in her life - she never misses the opportunity to spend time going and doing activities, putting them before her own needs. She tries to live a healthy life style, and in turn is a roll model for her own children, as they witness her exercising and showing the importance in physical activities, along with her faith and pride in her country. Laura has always been a sweet, caring person and a loyal, trustworthy friend and can be counted on even as busy as she is. It is no wonder she has been nominated for this Life Changer Award. We are so very proud of her. We, as her family, feel blessed to have witnessed the life of this "Life Changer" since she has certainly changed our lives for the better.
I am pleased to support Mrs. Farnham for this prestigious award. I have known Laura for over 10 years and she is well-liked by everyone. Laura and I worked together and shared many students with special needs that were in her class and on my speech and language therapy caseload. Laura is a teacher that knows how to bring out the best in each student. She has a way of making students feel comfortable and confident to share their ideas. Laura cares about all students and does her best to bring out the potential in each in every one of them. Laura and I are also friends outside of the classroom. She is a person who is kind-hearted and will do anything to help others! She is well-deserving of this award!
I met Mrs. Farnham last year when my son went to her second grade class. He was very timid about his writing which would bring him to a complete halt when it came to him doing anything that involved it, even writing his name! Needless to say, I always recieved a call about his work. Fast forward to Mrs. Farnham, I never recieved a call about his work, not even a complaint. She knew all the right things to do and say to get him more confident in his writing. When the year was over he was devastated to find that she was not going to be his teacher anymore. He still talks about her to this day. Thank you Mrs. Farnham for being our life changer! ?
Our daughter Sophia had Mrs. Farnham last year for 2nd grade. She is a terrific teacher with tons of patience, love and encouragement for the children that she educates. She definitely takes the time to learn about them and their needs. She is definitely worthy of the "LifeChanger of the Year Award" due to her experience as well as her love for teaching!
We had the privilege of having Mrs. Farnham as our daughter's teacher. She is an outstanding educator that is passionately dedicated to the children in her care. Laura's commitment to her profession is truly reflected upon the kids and many, including mine, view her not only as a teacher but, a mentor and friend. It is wonderful to see that she has been recognized & nominated for such an honor and we can think of none more deserving.

Mrs. Farnham was my son’s 2nd grade teacher last year. By far it was his best year ever!! I had heard that she was a great teacher and was thrilled that he was chosen for her class. Up until Mrs. Farnham’s Class my son would always come home with bad remarks and need teacher meetings because he was so active and distracting to others. Once he was in Mrs. Farnham’s Class, all of the bad reports and disciplinary actions stoped. She knows how to adapt her teaching techniques to best meet the individual child’s needs. She always keeps them engaged and interested. She keeps learning fun! My son also achieved many awards while in her class which is something he had never done before. Mrs. Farnham knows how to bring out the best in the children. This “Life Changer of the Year Award” is perfect for her because that’s exactly what she did for my son. She changed my son’s perspective on learning that will impact him through all of his educational years to come. You can tell that she truly loves her kids and her job. Always has the sweetest smile and gives the children the kindest hug.
I met Laura when she was twelve years old. She was a friendly, smart middle schooler who cared about her family and friends. Today, a “few” years later she remains friendly, smart and caring. She’s a wife, mother, and to the benefit of her community, a teacher.
Over her years of teaching, she has helped lay the foundation for hundreds of young minds to excel as they progress through elementary, middle and high school...and yes college. Her caring approach to the individual and collective needs of her class, grade level and school sets an example for all involved. Starting with the solid footing she provides, she enables her students to want more and her fellow teachers to build on that.
This “LifeChanger of the Year” initiative is a great way to recognize an often unsung profession. Personally, I would award a-lot of teachers this award...because a great teacher does change the life of every student they touch and they sacrifice a great deal to do it. A great teacher is born to it...I saw that when she was twelve years old and I see it today, a “few” years later. Palm Beach County Schools are very lucky to have her.
Laura Farnham is an outstanding teacher! I had the privilege of working with her for 2 years at Pierce Hammock Elementary School. As the School Counselor, many of her students would come and tell me stories about how caring and compassionate she was. Not only is she a fantastic teacher but she is also an amazing and kind human being. Laura is very deserving of this nomination!
I had the privilege of supervising Laura Farnham for 6 years at Pierce Hammock Elementary. She created a classroom environment of trust with her students. She provided a hands-on learning environment and was always involved with school functions as well as community events. Over the years she has continued to be an outstanding educator. She is deserving of this nomination.
I was a volunteer at Pierce Hammock for many years. I concur with the numerous individuals that have commented about Mrs. Farnham!
I was privileged to observe her over the years to be an incredibly vivacious teacher. Her students would run down the hallway in the morning to happily greet her. After the morning hug and greeting, she would remind them about walking, not running down the hall. ??
Her positive personality is contagious. Everyone in the school would seek out Laura for help whether it be about subject matter, student assistance or a personal issue. It was amazing to see!!!
As a retired middle school and high school teacher, I can verify the type of teacher Laura Farnham is far and few between. If more teachers were the caliber of her, our school system would be in much better shape!
I wish Mrs. Farnham all the best because she is THE BEST!!!!
I have the pleasure of working with the FANTASTIC Mrs. Farnham. She is compassionate, patient, kind and gives her undivided attention to each of her students. Mrs. Farnham encourages her students to do their very best to achieve their academic goals. She has a unique way of connecting with her students and staff. Everyone just loves her! Mrs. Farnham always is willing and will go out of her way to help students, parents and her colleagues. She is a gentle spirit and her students are truly lucky to have her as a teacher.
Mrs. Farnham is an incredible educator and friend. My first year teaching, she was there to support me in anyway I needed. She can always put a smile on anyone's face and can make a whole room laugh. Her students love her and it shows in her positive classroom environment. Before becoming a teacher, I worked at her schools aftercare program and got to watch her students grow and flourish. They love Mrs. Farnham so much and they are excited about learning. She is an amazing teacher, friend, mother and leader!
I am a substitute teacher at Mrs. Farnham’s school and have subbed in her classroom for more than 8 years. I always enjoy being assigned to teach in her classroom. I know before I walk in the door that her classroom will be clean and organized. I also know that her lesson plans will be detailed, yet easy to follow. I also have had the pleasure of being a parent in her classroom! My daughter had Mrs. Farnham as a first grade teacher many years ago and loved being a student in her class. Mrs. Farnham is a caring and effective teacher and her students and fellow teachers love her!
Mrs. Farnham is an amazing teacher. Her students aren’t just another number to her she treats them all like they are her own. My son had the pleasure of her being his teacher for not one but two school years. She was so patient and supportive to his needs. To this day he still talks about her and how much he misses her. She left an imprint on him that will last a lifetime, just as I’m certain she has for all students who are in her classroom. She’s truly an amazing teacher!!
Laura Farnham is an amazing educator and friend to all! She goes beyond just teaching . She inspires her students to love to learn. Laura is always there for her students as well as her friends . She makes everyone feels special and welcome. I’ve had the opportunity to observe and learn from Laura myself as a teacher. She is beyond amazing !!
Laura Liposky-Farnham YOU SO DESERVE THIS AWARD!!!! Thank you for taking my both my sons through 1st and 2nd grades- you have been a huge source of stability and inspiration! We adore your enthusiasm and passion for growing their brains and hearts. We love you! Good luck!
Mrs.Farnham is amazing! She has a warm inviting personality that has helped our older son with learning and enjoying school. He has come home with many silly stories about the fun they had. She has a very upbeat and her bubbly personality that makes you feel comfortable. She has a great passion for teaching students. Please keep that love for teaching our babies for many years to come!!
Mrs Farnham is amazing! She was my sons first teacher when we moved to Florida. It was also the year we learned he had dyslexia and why he struggled so much in school. She was patient and encouraging when he was frustrated and wanted to quit. She makes learning a joy. She has remained a friend long after she had him as a student and has supported each milestone he has conquered. We love her!
Not only is Laura a friend, she is a coworker and a treasured teacher to my daughter. No matter how busy Laura is, she always has the time to help her coworkers as both a friend and CTA rep. She works countless hours beyond her scheduled duty times to meet the needs of everyone at the school. She's not just the safety patrol sponsor, she's a mentor to an entire grade level of students who admire her. As much as she goes above and beyond for the school, she truly raises the bar as a teacher. In her class, my daughter could not wait to go to school each and everyday. My daughter felt loved, challenged and at the same time successful in Mrs. Farnham's room. Laura Farnham is very deserving of this award.
I was the school nurse at an elementary school where Laura worked. She was always smiling and basically a positive ray of sunshine! I recall many time her coming into the clinic from the cafe with children who were ill during her lunch period—- and always checking back in with me to see how they were. Her sense of duty to children and her follow through is commendable. Pleasant yet firm (while maintaining her smile and composure) is how I recall her teaching style. Truly an amazing mentor and resource.
As Laura's first grade teacher I feel great pride in knowing how this caring former student continues to impact the lives of future generations. May her passion for teaching inspire future educators.

I have known Mrs. Farnham for ten years. We first met when my daughter attended her 1st grade class. It was a wonderful school year, full of fun events and good memories. Four years later, when my son was starting 1st grade, we were happy to find out that Mrs. Farnham would be his teacher too. My son loved every day of his first grade, and I cannot be more grateful to Mrs. Farnham for that.
Throughout all the years my kids spent in Pierce Hammock, Mrs. Farnham has participated in many school events and chaperoned many fieldtrips, including St. Augustine and Washington D.C. Like many other parents, I worry about sending my kids on long trips, and it made a huge difference knowing that Mrs. Farnham would be with them.
Mrs. Farnham is a great teacher and a wonderful person - very kind, patient, understanding, and fun to be around. She deserves this award for her dedication and hard work.
My daughter had Mrs. Farnham for second grade about four years ago. Our family wound up transferring to another school, but to this day my daughter remembers what a great teacher Mrs. Farnham was. She does an excellent job of combining humor and professionalism. She really cares about her students and wants them to do well. Her communication with me was always clear and articulate and caring. I think when my daughter is in college, she will still remember what a great teacher Mrs. Farnham was for her.
Mrs. Farnham has a love for the classroom like no other. She is always going above and beyond for her class. She never thinks twice when coworkers or friends ever need a helping hand she is just always there to pitch in. I am lucky to have the honor to work aside her.
Mrs. Farnham's enthusiasm overflows inside and outside of the classroom. Her passion shows in her dedication to her students and colleagues. She always has a smile and kind words of encouragement.
Dear Parents,
I give you back your children, the same children you confidently entrusted to my care 2 years ago. I give them back pounds heavier, inches taller, months wiser, more responsible, and more mature than they were then. Although they would have attained this growth in spite of me, it has been my pleasure and privilege to watch their personalities unfold day by day. I give them back reluctantly, for having spent twenty months together in the narrow confines of a crowded classroom, we have grown close, have become a part of each other, and we shall always retain a little of each other.
Ten years from now if we met on the street, your child and I, a light will shine to our eyes, a smile to our face, and we shall feel the bond of understanding once more, this bond we feel today. We have lived, loved, laughed, played, studied, learned, and enriched our lives together this year. I wish it could go on indefinitely, but give them back I must.
Take care of them, for they are so precious. Remember that I shall always be interested in your child and his or her destiny, wherever they go, whatever they do, whoever they become. Their joys and sorrows I’ll always be happy to share. I would love to continue to share in their paths to success as the years go on.
With Love,
Mrs. Farnham
~We received this at the end of 2nd grade from Mrs. Farnham. I still read it often. It still makes me cry. I will treasure it, and her, always.
I am truly not sure where to start and stop when talking about Laura Farnham. She is loving, kind, fun, smart, innovative, tenacious, patient, and firm, but in a loving way. She possesses a super power of figuring out what each of her students needs are, and helping them grow without them even realizing the work they are doing. She helps each one of them bloom where they are planted. Our daughter is high functioning autistic. The best thing that happened was getting Mrs. Farnham for 1st grade, and then the whole class looping together for 2nd grade. Sophia made such strides, not just academically, but grew exponentially on a personal level. She really came out of her shell, had improved self esteem and confidence, and was not as fearful with new things. All as a result of Mrs. Farnham's dedication and love. I'm not ashamed to say, we used Mrs. Farnham's influence at home, to help with our daughter's behavior. All we had to say was that we were going to give Mrs. Farnham a call or text, and Sophia would turn right around! It was awesome! LOL
Mrs. Farnham loves life, shares her life and aspirations with her students. Sends them notes, pictures, accolades and encouragement, in addition to all they share together in her classroom. She really should wear a superhero cape. I think it could have a big F...for FABULOUS FARNHAM!! We love you and miss you, Mrs. Farnham! We would love to celebrate you when this honor is officially bestowed upon you! xo~xo~xo
Laura is very deserving of this honor. I have witnessed her teaching style and she is amazing at meeting all the needs of all her students. She definitely loves what she does. Very happy to see her being acknowledged for her hard work and dedication.
Amazing teacher! She will always go out of her way to ensure her students have an amazing year!
She has created a safe place for students and parents to come chat about wherever extra needs may be for each and every student.
Ms. Farnham was my daughters 1at grade teacher at PHES seven years ago. She is a compassionate teacher who my daughter adored. She always goes above and beyond. I am fortunate that my daughter had her at PHES!
Mrs. Farnham was my 1st grade teacher. She was my favorite teacher. She always took time to help me. She made me laugh and always made me feel special. She went on our 5th grade Patrol trip to DC and she taught us so much and took care of us. She always made learning fun. I love Mrs. Farnham and she will always be my favorite teacher. Mrs. Farnham should get this award as she is the best teacher ever.
Laura was great with our daughter. Wish more were like her.
I moved to Florida mid school year almost 7 years ago. My now in 8th grade son was blessed enough to be assigned to her classroom. He didn't like school and was already telling me at 5 and 6 he was not going to college! She immediately made him comfortable and welcomed. He had struggled in his previous school but I had worked with him, with no school support to get him caught up. His Ohio school told me he was right on track with his grade level expectations. Mrs. Farnham then informed me that he was more than a year behind per Florida standards. I was shocked since he was only in 1st grade, then the most amazing thing happened .....she told me "no worries, we'll get him on track before the end of the year!" I was sceptical since we moved here half way through the school year. Then with minimal work from me at home he started to love going to school and he was excited to learn. Mrs. Farnham got the wheels moving at school for him to get the speech therapy I didn't realize he needed, she made learning fun, structured, and reachable for him. She kept her word and he was on track and moved on to the next grade well prepared. He is now a National Junior Honor society member and excels in school (he just skipped at year in math and is working on high school credit in middle school). The influence she made for my son's life at age 7 was so astounding it completely changed his school path.
I was then blessed to start my other son at the same school (he has extensive health issues and is now a 5th grader at an inclusive autism school) he did not have her classroom but she is such a positive influence and energy through out the entire school that he was excited to see her and even let her hug him (very few get to do this). She started and co-coached a "get active running group" after school that he asked to join (he hates running since it causes him leg and back pain) but Mrs. Farnham made him feel accomplished, equal, and accepted in the group. It was such a blessing to see him excited about a healthy social activity.
So Mrs. Farnham not only influenced both my sons she was life changing for me during that time also. Her ability to be a trusted, positive, structured, and fun teacher/woman made my families transition moving 1200 miles from family and anything familiar so much nicer. School was my biggest worry and she took that away completely for me in just a few weeks time. She even went above and beyond and listened to my own struggles and helped me learn our new community. She freely offers help and knowledge wherever she can in parents and children's lives.
I recommend her to anyone who has a child in the grade she's teaching and tell anyone who's blessed enough to have their child in her class just how lucky they are.
Mrs.Farnham has been such an amazing teacher and a great mentor to all the staff at Pierce Hammock. She always has a smile on her face, and is so good with the kids. Working there for 4 years I could see how happy the kids were to see Mrs.Farnham every day. Just being in her class always made me happy. The kids enjoyed going to school because of her. I worked in the aftercare department and Mrs.Farnham always helped me with any advice I needed. She provided guidance and has always been a positive role model for me as well as everyone else in the school. Her love for teaching is infectious. There is no teacher that deserves this award more than Mrs. Farnham.
Laura is an awesome teacher who truly loves her students. She goes above and beyond in teaching.
There are not enough words to describe the compassion and dedication that Laura Farnham has teaching. She exemplifies what a teacher should be to all students. Most teachers label children as problems because of their social, emotional or learning issues. Laura takes the time to understand each child and their needs and provide them the support they need to develop, learn and grow. She instills in each child how special they are and obtains their trust.
I have had the pleasure of knowing Laura through PHES when she taught my daughter in 1st grade (she is now in 7th). She was able to see through her social and emotional issues to the special girl that she is and give her the basis she needed to excel in her learning. It didn’t stop when she moved to another grade. Laura continued throughout the rest of her years at PHES to support her and always let her know that she was there if she needed anything. I continued to see Laura excel in teaching as I was very involved with the school in SACC and volunteering. I watched her love for her job and making an impact on the kids continue every year. There is not a parent or student that does not love her and the way she handles her class and the students in the school. I can honestly say that Laura Farnham had the biggest impact on my daughter in her schooling.
Her love for teaching and her compassion for every student Makes her beyond deserving of this Lifechanger award.
Laura Farnham is truly amazing! My son unfortunately did not have her as one of his teachers but we are blessed to have her in our school. She always goes above and beyond for all the children and they just love her! Thank you Laura Farnham for all that you do??
I support Mrs. Farnham’s nomination for Lifechanger of the Year Award with much enthusiasm! Her dedication to her students combined with her loving, caring manner and willingness to go above and beyond make her a wonderful candidate for this award!
I have known Laura for over 25 years. I can tell you that Laura is one of those people who brightens a room when she walks in. You can’t help but smile when you see her. She has so much energy and is always looking for ways to improve herself to be the best. I wish her all the luck in the world with this nomination. She certainly has earned it. She is a true friend and I know she loves teaching and her students tremendously. Good luck Jersey girl!
Laura Farnham is a wonderful hands-on teacher, who will help anyone (parents or fellow teachers) with supplies,
extra motivational ideas and curriculum assistance. She loaned me chart paper once, when mine hadn't come in yet.
:-) She's self-motivated in helping her students get the best educational growth potential possible in her classroom.
Her room is colorful, user-friendly and comfortable for the children. She makes elementary teaching look easy, when
we know it's hard work everyday. Laura always has a big smile on her face and treats everyone with courtesy from the admin
to the support staff; she's a big team player across the school campus. She is a great mentor teacher with a strong work ethic to "give of herself and her time" to others. I was privileged to know her at Pierce Hammock Elementary School.
Laura is amazing!!! She is very caring and great at influencing others in a positive way!!
My twin daughters Addisyn & Isabella loved having Mrs. Farnham as their first grade teacher.. she not only taught my girls but while teaching them she made it fun to learn & to this day she is still one of their favorite teachers..
Congratulations! Can't think of a better person for this nomination!
I have worked with Laura for about 10 years and any time I have knocked at her classroom door, she has opened it with a welcoming smile. She is very helpful and resourceful to all her team members and colleagues. She has the patience and dedication needed to reach all her students.. I have had the privileged to teach her sons and as a supportive parent, she most definitely stands out above the rest.
Laura is an outstanding professional and as the saying goes, she is good people!
