Nakeisha Raibon was nominated by a colleague and family member, Natasha Raibon-Sheppard.

Coach Raibon is known for her caring, yet stern coaching skills. Although she has students who many teachers would consider challenging, she finds a way to show them empathy and compassion, and can get them to achieve more than they thought possible. She exudes school pride and is a deeply motivated advocate for her team and school as a whole. She's often the first to arrive and last to leave, making sure kids get home safely.  Collectively, she has taught for five years and does her best in each position she's served in.

"She gives her all to the kids, not just academically but personally, taking time to build rapport with each individual student, " Raibon-Sheppard said. "Coach Raibon doesn't mind standing up for her kids and sees the best in them, even when no one else can."

Iv only known Keisha for a short amount of time. We met this summer as we headed off to coaches clinic and her and the other coaches have been so welcoming into the PT. family. I have watched her on the court and you can see the passion and love she has for her athlete along with the sport. Not only that but she is so encouraging for me... She will post bible scriptures everyday and I always make sure I read them. There are days that look at what she posts and sometimes I think she just knows what I need to hear. Keisha is very deserving for this award... Congrats girl!

Coach Raibon is very deserving of the nomination. Countless hours are given to her students in the classroom and on the court. More than ever, today’s youth need positive role models to lead and guide them to give their best in everything they do. This nomination is a well deserved recognition. Congratulations Coach.

Coach Raibon, puts her energy, time, but most importantly her heart into her students. To meet Coach Raibon is to love her, so, I know her students and coworkers have come to know that she doesn't give up, and she will not let her students gives up. She speaks with pride of her students, her dedication and commitment speaks volume. That old saying is still true, "it takes a village to raise a child" She is that kind of educator to her students, always striving to lead by example, and to push her students to meet their potential.

A very kind and empathetic young lady. She has a caring heart, cares about others, wants kids to excell in all they do. She knows what a child needs beyond the classroom. Yet she is disciplined enough to get the job done for the children and the school.

Cousin, as I have grown to call Keisha, doesn’t sound like a normal nickname. I call her that because she has embraced me into her family at Pine Tree Junior High. I’m new to Pine Tree this year, and we met during a summer volleyball camp in June. I didn’t know what to expect because I’ve had good and not so good experiences joining a new coaching staff. I was immediately drawn to her and other coaches because of her infectious laugh and prankster-like behavior. I share the same traits so it was easy to become fast friends. Our shared love for athletics, competitive nature, and quirkiness, led to a kinship, much like that of sisters, or...cousins. I quickly got to know her sister, Natasha Raibon-Sheppard, and we soon make the same connection. Keisha’s love for her players and and students is easily seen by the way she pushes and holds high expectations for them. She’s genuine and kind, and I’m so happy that she’s nominated for LifeChanger of the Year. She’s changed my life already in the short time I’ve known her. I hope this helps in your decision. Thank you!
