LifeChanger of the Year Nominee Profile

Melodie McClarren was nominated by a colleague, Iris Chapa.

Mrs. McClarren is not only an outstanding educator, but an incredible human being. She is the role model that parents want for their children and a true asset to education. Mrs. McClarren works tirelessly to provide her students with the best instructional experiences for academic success. She works with students beyond the classroom to strengthen both social skills and community awareness. Her afterschool time is spent exploring ways for her students to learn beyond the classroom.

"Through her leadership, Mrs. McClarren's students are becoming leaders and developing self confidence that is important for success. Her efforts have allowed kids to network with influential leaders and career professionals. She has also inspired her students to make a difference, all while having fun," Chapa said.

Aside from her professional accomplishments, Mrs. McClarren is a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother.

"There is no doubt she will continue to serve as motivation for her students regardless of their race, economic status, and/or other personal obstacles. With more people like Mrs. McClarren, the world can be a better place," Chapa said.
