Nancy Flores was nominated by an anonymous friend.
Ms. Flores has a history of embracing challenged and underprivileged schools and helping them turn things around.
"She would never toot her own horn. I've asked myself over and over for 15 years...do I think that she is this great just because she's my friend? The answer is no." her nominator said. "I have personally seen her transform schools from tragic into triumphant. She is a miracle worker for children and adults. With her leading, they start believing again,"
After Hurricane Harvey devastated Dickinson,Texas, Ms. Flores went into the community, helping students and staff who had been displaced. She fed families every day, held free garage sales and give it away days.
"I have watched her pray with and for people. She is a light in the darkness for kids. She's been doing this for 22 years. I tell her to get an easier job. Every time, her response is, 'My children need me,'" her nominator said. "She would never want an award, but she always deserves one. She is anything and everything that kids need. She is a leader with a servant's heart!"
As a parent you always hope that your children grow spiritually, healthy, and lead a good life. That not only they are happy in the profession they chose but that it leads to helping others. Nancy marie flores is such a person. She is devoted to making a difference a difference in a child’s life, one child at a time. Her determination to improve a child’s education and future possibilities is her ultimate goal.
She prays with those in need and helps to guide. We are always in awe of the strength that is reflected in her passion for what she does on a daily basis.

I am a witness to the great things she does for her school and community. She worked hard to make sure the community that we serve and the school staff had everything they needed after Hurricane Harvey. The passion that she has for at risk children is truly inspiring. She is an all around amazing person!
Ms. Flores hired me about 10 years ago as an assistant principal and while I only worked with her one year, her leadership qualities impressed me greatly. Her passion for all of our students, regardless of program or background, was strong and evident everyday through her actions. When we say, "students first", she demonstrated this phrase time and time again. I admire her for the strong leader and educator that she is. Additionally, the culture of the campus was what it was while she was here because of her servant and passionate disposition towards students, teachers, staff and the community. As for me personally, she poured into me her professional knowledge and experiences that I still carry with me today. I'm happy to hear that she is nominated and am more than happy to contribute to her nomination.
I have had the opportunity to serve under Ms. Flores for 10 years in two different districts. I followed her when I transitioned to a new district because I truly admire her leadership- "Servant Leadership". I have witnessed her transformation in teachers, students, and Administrators via leading by example and modeling a "growth mindset". Her commitment, dedication, and compassion for a quality education establish the rigor in every classroom, for every student. She is an inspiration and her light is truly authentic in every aspect. She is very modest and never wants recognition; however, her leadership is noteworthy, "truly an inspiration to others", "a Life- Changer"!
