MaryBeth Welsh was nominated by her husband, Joseph Welsh.

Ms. Welsh has been a Lee County employee for over 8 years and has studied very hard to become a special needs teacher. Many of her students require extreme attention at all times, and she always provides them with the attentive care they need. She is very professional with parents and co-workers at all times. She sets an example for other ESC teachers and is in great demand for her skill and educational level.

"My wife recognizes students' strong points and caters to their strengths to make sure they are able to focus on the lesson," Joseph Welsh said. "MaryBeth is a problems solver, and the way she makes an itinerary for each quarter amazes me. She spends her own resources to acquire things that will help students progress. The results she brings to the students are amazing. Most parents are quite pleased to talk with her and hear about the progress their children are making.  Principals love to have her as a staff member, for she is a great addition to the ESC dept who is very professional and respectful."

Though the job of teaching ESC children can be very difficult, MaryBeth overcomes obstacles and provides the highest quality education to promote positive learning experiences.

"In my opinion, MaryBeth should be the head of the ESC dept for the entire county or even the southern district," Joseph Welsh said. "Several children she has seen outside of school have thanked her for helping them achieve higher goals."
