Lisa Weaver's nominator wishes to remain anonymous.

Ms. Weaver is an amazing educator! When the nominator first met her at school 10 years ago, he was in awe of her positive attitude and the atmosphere in her classroom.

"Lisa's heart is in her profession, 120%," the nominator said. "She gives to her students in so many ways and does not seek attention for it."

There have been many situations where she has gone above and beyond the call of duty for her students. One year, she found out that a student was sleeping on the floor because he wanted his sisters to sleep on the only bed and couch in their house. Ms. Weaver knew she could not buy him a bed, but she bought him two sleeping bags and two pillows to try and help him sleep easier. His family was also having issues with plumbing and electricity, so she went out of her way to find people who could help them.

In order to help her students succeed in the classroom, Ms. Weaver develops strong relationships to help students build their self-confidence. She does not label her students because she believes that all students can succeed if you connect with them. She turns students' behavioral issues around so they can begin to grow academically.

One of her students left second grade on a fourth grade level. Another entered second grade on a kindergarten level and left on a third grade level.

"It was inspiring to watch the growth of those two students that year, both behaviorally and academically," the nominator said. "Lisa still checks in on those students, two years later, and lets them know that she is still there for them and still cares."

Ms. Weaver has served on her school leadership team for ten years, and is a mentor teacher for many new teachers. Many colleagues look up to Ms. Weaver and seek her advice. She is always willing to listen and help in any way possible. Recently, she finished an Aspiring Leader program in her county in hopes to one day go into administration. Ms. Weaver's philosophy is "See a need, fill a need."

"She lives by that philosophy and is always going above and beyond," the nominator said. "She has served as the school webmaster, social media master, taught professional learning classes, served on numerous committees, coached academic teams, worked very closely with her school administration to continue to grow as a teacher leader, and the list could continue. There is nothing Lisa wouldn't do for her students, school, and community. There is no one like her."

Mrs Weaver is every parents dream. She is passionate about students and what their potential is and bringing that out in them. I've never known a teacher that loves her students as much as she loves her own babies. She has always gone above and beyond to make her students feel appreciated and do whatever it takes to reach them academically. She is one very special person so unselfish

This woman is the epitome of what every educator should be. She is a leader inside and outside the classroom and always considers how her actions will affect, inspire, or change those around her.

Mrs.Weaver is truly a phenomenal teacher. I've had the opportunity to work with her for several years at SCE. She not only goes beyond what is expected of her for students but also her colleagues. She is extremely passionate about learning and has high expectations for every child that enters her room..

I met Lisa through her husband and after my retirement from thirty years of teaching. I immediately noticed the sparkle in her eyes that I had known in so many successful teachers from my own career. Her success is brought on by her desire to bring out the best in others. Students recognize this and respond to it. I am proud of her nomination and expect great things from her!

I had the privilege of working with Lisa Weaver in second grade. She was the team leader and she helped me so much. It was my first time teaching second grade and Lisa took the initiative to help me. She made lesson plans, met with me after school and helped me with some very difficult students. Lisa always lends a helping hand.

Lisa is wonderful human being and a truly gifted teacher. She was able to reach my daughter to overcome several life changing obstacles.

If I could hire Lisa to be my kids teacher only, I would. She has treated all of my kids like her own for 12 years. Each of my kids have had her as their teacher multiple years and have grown incredibly in both academic and character. She is a gift in each and every child's life she teaches!

I agree with everything described about Lisa. She has a passion and desire to grow and always improve. I was her administrator for a few years and many times she would step in to do something and when I went to do it, it was already done. Lisa just noticed the need and jumped in to do it. She not only changes students lives in a positive way, but she impacts coworkers, parents, and the community.

Lisa is my daughter’s “adopted” big sister. She was a lifesaver for her many years ago. Our youth group from church was going to a teen conference and it was my daughter’s first year going. Her best friend decided at the last minute that she wasn’t going. Heather was very upset. Lisa stepped up and invited her to room with her and a friend. She was a lifesaver for this mama’s heart. They’ve been great friends/sisters ever since. We love Lisa and really think that she deserves this award.
