As a first grade teacher, Ms. Conner loves every child that walks into her room. She builds positive relationships with her students and takes the time to listen to them if they have a problem. She praises students when they have success and never lets a child give up. Ms. Conner encourages everyone to keep trying and always makes her classes fun.
"She uses differentiated instruction to meet the needs of every student and has received the district's A+ Reading Teacher recognition," the nominator said. "She even volunteers to help with different school events."
It is my pleasure to give Emily Anne Conner the highest of personal and professional recommendations as a candidate to receive The Life Changer Award. As a first grade teacher, Emily Anne went into teaching expecting to change the lives of her students and that is exactly what she is doing. Her positive attitude, willingness to cooperate and love for her students are noted by all. She is determined to help her students grow and be successful in all areas.
Emily Anne demonstrates the highest level of professional commitment and competency in her work with students and colleagues. She gives generously of her valuable time, and her work extends well beyond the hours of a school day. She is so compassionate to the needs of these young students and does what she can to help build their confidence and self-esteem. She truly is a Life Changer.
I have known Emily Anne since she was born. As she grew her motivation to help others succeed was always a top priority. Now that she is a teacher she creates a special bond with her students, fellow teachers, parents, and members of the community. Emily Anne ensures that all students become successful and she individualizes her instruction to meet all student's needs. She tirelessly works on lessons that initiate active roles in the learning process. She goes above and beyond her role as a teacher and actively participates with all aspects of student life in or out of the classroom. She truly epitomizes a life changing role in education as well as investing a lifetime commitment to everyone in her family and community.
Emily Anne Conner truly loves teaching and the joy it brings to both her and her students. Ms. Conner incorporates the use of a variety of teaching styles to instruct her first grade students. She incorporates both hands on activities and technology into her instruction throughout the day. By differentiating instruction in her classroom it allows students to work on their individual instructional level which enhances both academic success and self pride in the students for their accomplishments. Ms Conner strives to be the best teacher she can be. She attends professional development workshops to increase her knowledge of current teaching strategies as well as completing her Masters degree in Gifted Education. She serves as a mentor teacher at her school for incoming teachers and is willing to lend a helping hand at all times. Ms. Conner is truly invested in her students and their education. The impact she has on the lives of her students as well as the impact they have on her makes her so deserving of the Life Changer Award. I have known Emily Anne since she was 5. Growing up she was always so caring and kind to everyone. She was a mentor in a High School for my Big Brothers Big Sisters of Mississippi Program and made such a difference in her Little’s Life. She began changing lives as a Big Sister to an elenrary child who faced many Challenges growing up. I can still see her little sparkle and run to her when she arrived. It is no surprise she became a teacher and continues to make a difference! It is not a job to her it is a part of who she is. As a counselor, her BBBS Coordinator and now a fellow educator I observe Emily Anne continue to touch many children’s lives not only with her expertise as a teacher but with her heart. This is what makes her a true Lifechanger!
I have known Emily Ann since she was born. I have watched her grow into a beautiful young lady. She has always been a blessing to her family and friends. She is a wonderful teacher and the children that she teaches are blessed.

Emily Anne is a caring, energetic, and enthusiastic educator. She is always motivated to be the best she can be in order to help others. Her smile radiates her enthusiasm when she discusses all aspects of creating a successful student. Her intention is to individualize her lesson to ensure each student becomes successful. Emily Anne goes above and beyond, not only for her students, but fellow educators, family, and friends. It has always been her intention to create a positive environment for everyone. As a young woman, she values every moment of each day and lives to share her enthusiasm. She truly epitomizes a life changing attitude for all people.

Emily Anne begins and ends each day with a smile and positive attitude because of her students. Her desire and motivation to help all her students learn and be successful is an inspiration to all who work with her. She creates lessons that will actively engage all her students to learn through hands on activities and technology. By differentiating her instruction Ms. Conner is able to reach all students in her first grade class giving each of them a sense of pride and accomplishment in themselves. This in turn fuels her passion for teaching. Ms. Conner continues to grow professionally through professional development training as well as completing her Masters of Gifted Education degree. Emily Anne Conner is a dynamic educator - as a first grade teacher I see her connecting with her students; fully investing in them not only as their teacher, but as a life long stakeholder in their success. As a professional, Emily Anne continues to sharpen her skills by attending and seeking professional development opportunities to better her best practices. She is a critical friend to her colleges and always is quick to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. Ms. Conner is truly a shining star and is in every since of the word a life changer. Emily Anne Conner is someone who all teachers inspire to be as an educator. She is someone who always has a huge smile on her face, and her upbeat, enthusiastic demeanor rubs off on her students as you can clearly see from the smiles on their faces. She spends countless hours planning her lessons, preparing her classroom, and attending professional development trainings to be the best educator that she can be. I can not think of a single teacher who deserves this award more than Ms. Conner. As a teacher, she brings joy to her students hearts, and she is someone who you can always count on to go he extra mile as a co-worker. From volunteering for school events, to lending a helping hand with new teachers, she is what all teachers aspire to be like as an educator. In all of my years as a teacher, I can not think of a single person who deserves to be awarded as the Lifechanger of the year recipient as much as Ms. Emily Conner.
