"There is no limit to how much love and kindness Alanna shares with the people around her," said her colleague. "From her family to her friends and strangers, she is there with a smile, a kind word, and a helping hand. As an educator, she goes above and beyond to forge connections with her students, discover new and inventive ways to meet their needs, and establish an open line of communication with their families to ensure their success. She is a leader in our school in looking after her students and colleagues' social and emotional needs."
"Alanna is very empathetic and intuitive, often meeting the needs of the people in her care before they even express their struggles," said her colleague. "She has created a program that extends past school hours that allows her students to express themselves creatively while making meaningful connections within their community. She accomplishes this through an intergenerational craft club established with a local assisted living facility. Her selflessness knows no bounds, and she deserves all that is good in the world."
"Alanna's smile and laugh are contagious, and being around her lifts your spirits even on a bad day," said her colleague. "Students (some not even in her class) seek her out for her warm hugs and positive greetings. Although Alanna may be sweet, she also believes it is important to stand up for her beliefs, even when it is not a popular opinion. She will always fight for what is best for her students and colleagues. Alanna radiates warmth, positivity, and kindness and deserves recognition for her efforts to make the world a better, kinder place."

Alanna is truly an example of a beautiful rose that grew from concrete. She grew up in very difficult circumstances and has overcome many obstacles in her life, making her the strong person she is today. When I met her, I knew that I had found someone who understands life’s challenges and has the ability to use her experiences to help others. Her heart is always in the right place, and she holds family, friendships, and service to others as top priorities in her life. She really understands what is important. She has shown her dedication to others through her career as a teacher and her intergenerational program in the Terraces at Seacrest Village where she brings together children and their families with the elderly residents to read stories and participate in crafts, all while creating positive interactions and support between these groups. She is unlike anyone I have ever met, and I truly believe that I am lucky to spend my life with Alanna as my wife and the mother of our children. She is the backbone of our family and the best thing that has ever happened to me.
Alanna is truly a example of what we should all strive to be like . She truly is amazing, kind, caring, loving, considerate, and she cares also deeply about the community. I am not good with my words , but when I look at Alanna, I feel like she is a ray of sunshine to everyone around her . You can’t help but be drawn to her, you can feel her peace, kindness, and genuine love of the community radiating from her !
Alanna Lupo is one of the most amazing friends, mom, teacher, and person that I know. We met the day we were both hired in LEH to teach kindergarten. I grew up in the country and she grew up in the city, but we very quickly became best friends, just like country mouse and city mouse. She was a veteran teacher coming from another district, and I was a first time teacher. She instantly took me under her wing and showed me everything she knew about being an amazing teacher. Most of what I know about showing kindness to my students, listening, differentiating, and managing the classroom came from Alanna. Not only is she an amazing person to work with, but she is a phenomenal friend. She is the type of person that is there for you no matter what to lend a helping hand, a listening ear, give a hug, offer advice, or pretty much anything else you need. Alanna is so deserving of this award, as she definitely changed my life the day we met all those years ago in the board office when we signed our contracts to work together.
Alanna is truly outstanding in all regards! She not only is a fantastic teacher but has one of the kindest hearts around! I've had the pleasure of knowing Alanna since we were 17 years old and she has continued to show that her potential is limitless! Alanna is creative beyond measure and empowers all who are lucky enough to know her. I'm SO proud of her being nominated for this award as it could not go to a more wonderful human!

Mrs. Lupo always makes me happy, gives me hugs, and makes feel special. She wasn’t my teacher but she always made sure to check in on me when she saw me at school and make sure I was happy, giving me lots of love. She is one of the main reasons I love going back to visit at GJM.
Alanna is everything an elementary teacher should be. When sending students to her class I was certain they would be treated like they belonged and were valued. Her patience and care for her students is unending. Any child who finds his or her way into her classroom is very fortunate.
I first met Alanna about 10 years ago when she was teaching an after school zumba class for parents to decrease their stress and have fun. Her positive, upbeat energy was contagious and her smile was always welcoming and caring. Since meeting Alanna then, I have continued to witness Alanna shine and bring her positive energy to all people she is around. Anyone she is in contact with, can feel her love and compassion through her warm hugs and smile, and her positive actions of always wanting to bring out the best in people and bringing all ages of people together for the greater good. She far exceeds the definition of a life changer in all aspects of her life. Our community is blessed to have her and our world is a much better place because of her.
Mrs. Lupo was one the my son’s classmates mom. He never had her a teacher but has felt her impact. Any day he sees her, He runs right up to her and talks to her whether it is at school or Walmart. She never seems annoyed. She just gives him a huge smile and lets him talk her ear off. He loves her and her daughter. And at every event I can see that so many students feel the same way. It definitely shows an impact if people are drawn to a teacher that they didn’t even have. She was able to build that connection in such a short interaction.
Mrs. Lupo is one of the most caring teachers I know and have had the pleasure to teach with. She truly cares about her students and creates a safe and warm environment for them. It’s obvious how much Mrs. Lupo loves teaching and her community!
Alanna is a wonderful role model for others and certainly a life changer! She shows kindness, respect, and concern for everyone she meets. She has the unique ability to help others by being present with a listening ear, wonderful smile, or an encouraging word. Alanna is a pleasure to know as a colleague and friend.
I’ve known Alanna since she was a young girl. She lived across the street from us in Brooklyn. She has always been a ray of sunshine and love. She babysat my two children when they were very young. She would play school with them and teach them so many amazing things while babysitting. She has always been a mentor to my children and the best role model, especially to my daughter, who just recently started her own teaching career. I know she has molded the minds of so many children, besides my own, and made the best impact on each of their lives alongside with people in her personal life and community. Alanna deserves to be celebrated for the wonderful, caring, selfless, and loving person that she is and always has been.
It is so easy to write about this truly amazing person. She is an exceptional teacher, colleague and friend. Alanna would often be gifted with the students who needed that extra support from a teacher. It was known that Alanna could take the most troubled student and offer them a safe, nurturing, place within her classroom. The students felt protected and loved and therefore succeeded. Beyond the scope of the classroom Alanna would offer this same passion to her colleagues. She is always there to lend a helping hand. She offers support and encouragement to all around her. My son had Mrs. Lupo this past year for 1st grade. She was not only one of the kindness people I have ever met but she treated my son like he was her own. She actually treated all of the students like they were hers. If my son was having a bad day I could reach out to her and she would check on him and give me updates on how he was doing. She genuinely cares about her students. She saw he was struggling on finishing his work because of distractions and helped him cope with those feelings and developed solutions for him to do well in the classroom. She actually listened to his concerns and developed a plan to make the situation better so he could concentrate. This helped his confidence tremendously. My son felt that he could go to her with his feelings and he trusted her. He will remember Mrs. Lupo forever. She has had such a positive impact on his life and I will be forever greatful. She also volunteers Saturdays with her children at the assisted living and does crafts with the residents. To do this every weekend takes loyalty and shows how much love she has for people. She definitely deserves this award.

There is so many wonderful things to say about Mrs. Lupo, it's hard to even start. She tutored my son in the library over the summer to help him with his reading! I also had the privilege of being her classrooms lunch aid! I loved being able to see her class every day and see how much her students absolutely loved her. She has to be the sweetest person I've ever met, always so kind and does so much for the community! I wish my kids got a chance to have her as a teacher but I know everyone is beyond lucky to have her as a teacher, coworker and friend.
Alanna Lupo is an amazing woman period! There are people who talk & talk but Alanna walks the walk and silently shows people how it’s done. Everyone who knows her knows she is a person you can depend on and will always be there for you in good times and most importantly the tough times! She is an incredible teacher who goes the extra yard not only for her students and colleagues but for anyone who needs help whether it’s in the school or the community we live in. We were introduced to Alanna in September 2019 as my daughter's teacher. She was so patient with my girl, who had a touch of elementary school anxiety. Covid hit, schools closed, and with that came online learning. She made videos, she asked for videos, she chatted when the kids were struggling, both academically or emotionally. She set up an end of the year gathering at a park months after June so her class could have closure. She dropped off end of year surprises and their stuff personally and waved from the mailbox. After schools resumed, she always made time for a hallway hug and chat, for not just her former student, but her former student's siblings. Mrs. Lupo is so loved in our house- she's funny, kind, genuine, and caring.
One of the greatest people I know. Selfless! Always ready to help others. It’s an honor to call her my friend!
I have known Alanna Lupo for almost 20 years. From the first moment I met her, I knew that she was a very special woman. I was an Assistant Principal in an elementary school and Alanna was just hired as a first grade teacher. Her dedication to her students, their families and our staff was commendable! She made meaningful connections with all, by making sure that she had all the resources to encourage their successes. She would often stay late to plan or chat with me, asking for advice on how to better herself and improve her teaching skills for herself and for her students.
Little did I know that this beautiful woman would one day become my daughter-in-law!
As our family relocated to Little Egg Harbor NJ, Alanna has continued to thrive in her teaching career, making those connections that make a difference. She is an amazing wife, mother and daughter-in-law for she is truly dedicated to our family. Whether she's cooking, shopping or hosting family events, you can be sure you'll be in for a fun time.
Alanna dedicates her weekends at an Assisted Living Home, where she and her 2 children plan meaningful crafts for the residents. Her program has been so successful that many of our Little Egg Harbor community members and their children have now graciously become a part of this amazing program.
Recently our community lost a beloved woman who was an integral part of Alanna's program. and in her honor, Alanna has renamed her program "Kim's Krafts."
There is no stopping Alanna Lupo! I know she will continue to love, encourage and care for her family, her students, and her community!
Alana not only is a LifeChanger in her classroom and school, but also her community. On Saturdays she volunteers and runs a program that brings members of the assisted living and children together for art projects. She is a caring and loving person.
