Micki Egli was nominated by an anonymous colleague.

Mrs. Egli can best be described as a no-nonsense, innovative, and determined leader. Becoming the district's newest superintendent was a challenge, but becoming a superintendent during a global pandemic takes that to a whole different level. Despite the challenges occurring in public education over the past few years, Mrs. Egli remains steadfast to the mission and vision of the community and school district.

Expanding opportunities for all students and building bridges within the community are the top priorities for her and the staff. Most recently, the district was awarded two grants to expand the vocational agriculture program and begin an industrial maintenance program. Students this school year will be able to learn about in-demand jobs right in their hometown, including welding and automation/robotics. Partners in the community like MAC Trailer, Simmers Crane, and CTM Labeling have come to the table as community partners to offer insight, guidance, and trainers to work with the students. On the vocational/agricultural side, a greenhouse and landscaping course was added last year, and this year in a partnership with Fork Farms, the students will be learning how to use Hydroponics to grow lettuce for the school cafeterias.

Mrs. Egli continues to lead by example in all that she does. She holds high expectations for all staff and students and models that daily. She is not afraid to hold people accountable, which is how she ensures that the district continues in its rich history of excellence.

Micki has always shown her dedication, from teaching special education children, to where she finds herself today...as one of the most dedicated superintendents I have ever known. Although I may sound predacious, as my daughter-in-law, I have never seen her only as a family member. She attends all the games she can and thinks about each student and their needs in her district. She is constantly attending seminars and classes to keep abreast of the changing times. She has been a bright star in the West Branch school district. No, I'm not from that district, but people are very willing to tell me how much they think of her. I'm proud to know her and call her family.
