Ms. Yera is an exceptional individual who has made a significant difference in the lives of students at Tefft Middle School in Streamwood, Illinois. She has inspired many, and her dedication and commitment to her work have been exemplary. Ms. Yera is being recognized as a LifeChanger for her outstanding efforts in making a positive change in the lives of her students.
Ms. Yera has exhibited several characteristics that make her deserving of this award. Firstly, she has shown empathy towards her students. She understands the challenges some of her students face and has taken it upon herself to help them overcome these challenges. She has created an environment where students feel safe and secure, and they can turn to her for guidance and support.
Secondly, Ms. Yera is dedicated and goes above and beyond to ensure her students receive the best education possible. She is committed to her work and has implemented several initiatives that have positively impacted her students. One such initiative is her Lider Club, which comprises over thirty dual language students learning to be leaders at school and within the Hispanic community.
Ms. Yera has worked tirelessly to provide opportunities for her Lider Club members. She has empowered them to become leaders and offered them outstanding educational opportunities. Her recent trip with the Lider Club to Springfield to meet with Senators Villa and Castro was an excellent example of her dedication to her work. Her students had the opportunity to participate in the press conference for Hispanic Heritage Day, tour the capital building, view executive chambers where bills are brought forward, and even meet Governor Pritzker.
Finally, Ms. Yera's commitment to her work has been unwavering. She leads by example and is always willing to go the extra mile to ensure her students receive the best educational experiences. She inspires her students and has shown them that anything is possible with hard work and dedication.
In conclusion, Ms. Yera is an exceptional individual who has made a significant difference in the lives of her students. Her empathy, dedication, hard work, and commitment have been outstanding. She has gone above and beyond to provide her students with the best education possible. Her Lider Club initiative, in particular, has been impressive, as she continues to provide her students with opportunities to become leaders within their community.

Leticia deserves to be a life changer of the year. She has inspired and continues to inspire all her students. She understands where her students are coming from and the challenges that they face and she knows how to support their individual emotional, social and academic needs. She has worked really hard to ensure that her students get the best education possible for these reasons I believe that Leticia Yeta should be the life changer of the year.
Leticia is a courageous teacher who faces challenges with forcefulness and vision. She is wholeheartedly dedicated to the child and the family. The students love her.
I have known Ms. Yera for more than 10 years. Through these years I have witnessed her passion and dedication to her students. On her role as leader of the Líder Club at Tefft I have seen her enthusiasm towards supporting students to achieve their goals.
Students were encouraged and able to learn from different local and state community leaders. I can attest to this because I have some of these students in my classes at the high school, and they have asked to have the Líder Club at the high school so they continue learning and enhancing their leadership skills. Their voices have been heard and now they have this club at school.
The learning experiences students acquired during their time at the club and the academic impact it has given to the students makes me nominate Ms. Yera for this LifeChanger award.

Como ex alumno de tefft middle school puedo decir que la Sra. Yera es una gran persona siempre ayudando a sus alumnos haciéndoles ver que puede lograrlo todo si se esfuerzan dando a entender la dedicación que tienes hacia sus alumnos. La Sra. Yera es una maestra de admirar viendo algo que mucha perdonas o incluso maestros/as no ven en muchos de sus alumnos.
She was a great teacher during the time I was at Tefft Middle School and I congratulate her for being another inspiration, being a teacher is not easy.
Leticia has been a great teacher since I have known her. She is very proactive, helpful and understanding with her students. Her ability to make each lesson meaningful, clear and important for their lessons has been her priority in her teaching.

I first met Leticia in 1987 in Cuba when I started my teaching program.
Leticia has a gift for teaching and her passion for doing so shines through the Classroom. Her dedication to teaching and unwavering commitment to us was truly admirable, and we were so fortunate to have her. She made a difference in our lives, especially mine. I was not an easy student, but she was patient and she challenged me to think critically and encouraged me to pursue my passions. She inspire me to be my best self. She was, and I am sure still is, an incredible mentor and role model for all her students, and I am so thankful for your guidance!
