Lindsey Calvert was nominated by a colleague, Amy McCampbell.

"Caring, informative, fun. These three words describe Mrs. Calvert," said McCampbell. "Mrs. Calvert is always there for her students, even if it means coming in early or tutoring them after school. She is willing to help them get ahead and do their best.

An interaction I have had with her involves a health issue she had. While it has occurred at school, once her students knew and understood what was going on, I saw them act quickly in coming to her aid. They were very protective of her, and I saw how they watched out for her. Not many teachers get that kind of love and devotion from their students."

Mrs. Calvert is fully invested in the well-being of her students. She knows that a sense of belonging and purpose is essential for learning. Lindsey has always created an open and accepting classroom environment. Her care is not limited to her kiddos, Lindsey has fostered lasting relationships with her co-workers as well. She’s made countless positive impacts in many lives. Thankful to have known and worked with Mrs. Calvert!

Mrs. Calvert has a heart of gold and is extremely patient with her students. She is a great colleague and always ready to lend a helping hand.

I know Mrs. Calvert on a personal level and not as a teacher. However it is hard to separate the two. She is honestly concerned for her students, their families and she loves her community. She gives so much of herself for the students that she is often late getting away and exhausted when she finally does. Then, she will get up and be thankful to get to do it again. She cares.

Mrs. Calvert was my 5th grade teacher when she first started teaching. She left a life long impact on my life and still to this day she is a person I can go to about anything! Keep changing lives one day at a time!
